Who Is Dajjal?
In the first year, the earth will reduce its production by one-third

In the first year, the earth will reduce its production by one-third. Rainfall from the sky will decrease, and as a result, the earth’s ability to yield crops will diminish. After one year passes, the earth will reduce its production by another one-third, and rainfall will decline even further. In the third year, this situation will lead to severe famine across the world, and the demand for water and food will increase everywhere.
This will be the announcement of the arrival of Dajjal.
In such circumstances, Dajjal will emerge in the world. Dajjal is not the name of a single individual; rather, it represents a mindset, a punishment, and a great trial imposed upon humanity. After completing the creation of the world, Allah did not leave humankind without guidance. Instead, through His mercy, He continued to guide humanity through His chosen messengers.
Those nations that obeyed were successful, while those who followed their desires became victims of punishment. Before the emergence of Dajjal, efforts to prepare his path are being carried out through the actions of Jews and Christians. Hidden conspiracies have been ongoing for a long time, and a visible example is the announcement of the establishment of the American embassy in Jerusalem.
Allah will grant Dajjal immense power. At a time when the world is gripped by severe famine, Dajjal will take control of the world’s resources. He will travel around the world on a swift conveyance. Dajjal will remain on earth for forty days: the first day will be equal to one year, the second day equal to one month, the third day equal to one week, and the remaining days will be like ordinary days.
He will have one eye, and on his forehead will be written “K.F.R” (disbelief or disbeliever), which only a true believer will be able to read.
Today, the world has become a global village. Through satellites and the internet, nations and people are interconnected. What the eye sees, the lips cannot fully express. One is left astonished at how much the world will change.
According to the meaning of a Hadith, Allah will grant Dajjal such power that at his command the sky will pour rain and the earth will yield crops. The earth will bring forth its treasures, and wealth and people will follow him like bees follow their queen, just as iron is drawn to a magnet.
By his command, animals will become healthy and the sick will be cured. He will claim, “Accept me as your Lord.” He will then command his two devilish agents to appear in the form of the parents of the person he is addressing. He will say, “Accept me as your Lord, and I will bring your deceased parents back to life,” and through deception, he will present false parents.
Those with weak faith will fall into his trap, while a firm believer will declare, “You are the false Dajjal.” Dajjal will kill him and then bring him back to life, again claiming divinity. This power will not be Dajjal’s own, but Allah will extend His decree to test humanity—who follows truth and who follows falsehood.
Dajjal will possess many tricks, deceptions, and control over resources, creating a catastrophe before the Day of Judgment. Imam Mahdi will appear, and as preparations are made to confront Dajjal, Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him) will descend and kill Dajjal at the place called Bab-e-Ludd. At that time, seventy thousand Jews will be with Dajjal.
During the battle, Jews will hide behind the Gharqad tree, which will conceal them, but victory will come by Allah’s help.
The trial of Dajjal is the greatest and most terrifying test from the time of Prophet Adam until the Day of Judgment. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sought refuge from it and advised his Ummah to memorize the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf for protection.
May Allah protect us, you, and our future generations from this trial. Ameen.
