A lot of people are scared to start a business not knowing that starting a business is quite the easy part but staying in business is the real deal .
Having this at heart , note your attitude will keep you in business.
I’m a fan of chocolate , especially the milk chocolate. Mmmm, I can feel the taste on my taste bud as I describe. To continue my story , anywhere I find my flavors , you find me there.
I live in the sub urban and where we only get chocolate at supermarkets and major malls but luckily for me I found this store at our local market where I could get most brands and flavors at wholesales price . Wow , really you heard me , wholesale price that means I could get my flavor for more at a regular price , who won’t love that ?
I walked into this store with whole joy in my heart, like a man who just found his bride. The store is attended by two daughters and their mother. I gave them a big smile and got back a long face .” Oh , I don’t really care , what I need are my chocolates” I thought to myself . I got those , got biscuits and left happily. To the feet of olivertwist that is always asking for more , I made another visit to the store and these daughters gave me the naughty experience I could ever have in my life . They were not friendly at all . I played , was friendly and they were just the most nagging creatures I’d seen . Still it’s chocolate, I could always come and get my chocolate and leave , no harm done . So I kept visiting, take what I needed and left.
On my next visit , as I was picking my choice , minding my business in doing just this , another customer walked in , she picked some stuff and on pricing she got a bad attitude from the mother . There’s this nagging response and body language from them I can’t explain . Oh , right there , right then ,I decided I won’t come to the store to get anything even it is meant going to get them at the malls and supermarket where they are expensive and I stool by those words . That was the last time I visited .
Directly adjacent to them was this other store , I get fresh farm produce. They are the most friendly set of people had met , the store was attended by a mother and two sons . They would go out of their way to satisfy a customer . They welcome you with a smile and soon you are discussing more than what you want to buy from them but you feel lively with them . They are easy to get along with.
On a particular visit to their store , I wanted to make payment and my phone went off . They went out of their way to make sure I was able to charge , make payment and take my goods . If it were another place , my phone went off was my business , no payment, no goods that’s my luck but no they didn’t .
What I’m trying to say is that this effort are just little act of kindness , patience and friendliness but it went a long way . Like I’m writing about them now , you if knew the store , I’m sure you would love to visit : referrals. Likewise the first store , I would share my experience with who cared to listen and no one that knows them would want to visit their store .
When you show kindness to 1 person , you are showing that to 100 persons , that one person will blow your trumpet to 100 persons . So in business, when you make 1 customer happy , you’ve made 100 more customers.
Where you can’t take your business to , they will take your business there .
