By now, the world has likely heard the news of Pope Francis’ passing on the heels of Easter, after shunning JD Vance and sending his second to lecture him on compassion, something the Vice President has shown he is abundantly lacking.

Upon hearing this news, my mind immediately wandered to the timing of this, the scheduling, the overall irony of it, and its significance.

I recalled that some time ago, I’d been told that if this particular Pope did not last more than twenty-five years that it might indicate the rise of the Antichrist. This was blown off at the time that I heard it, but I am always interested in learning about old prophecies and predictions.

That alone led me to study a bit and learn about Nostradamus, Edward Cayce, and many other notable fortune tellers of the past, and some of the present, even.

Any smart person with an open-mind will be cautious about watching for charlatans but I do find that spiritualists aren’t to be discounted and unexplainable situations have happened enough in my own life for me to give the benefit of the doubt to most things, but not without some degree of skepticism and a desire to understand and sort through them logically.

However, as life would have it, not all things are always logically explained — and that leads me to the prophecy of the Last Pope, whom many believe was, and is, Pope Francis. It is said that the next Pope to come from the Vatican will be one whom people have whispered for decades will be a quote, “evil pope,” with nefarious intentions, and that most of the powers that be will help him come to rise.

I spoke about this with a friend, and it intersects with the very real and obvious rise of Fascism in the United States — the President’s administration having argued today that not everyone can logically be given due process and an individual trial was presented before the Supreme Court, and that should be terrifying for everyone coming after he was heard on hot mike saying they’ll be going for the homegrowns next.

I am a Yahuwan Gnostic, however, and that means I do see some spiritual insight in this and the line up of things as they are corroborated by the baffling occurrences around us and statements like, “I want a legion of children before the Apocalpyse comes,” by billionaire Oligarchs like Elon Musk are all the more eyebrow raising.

It almost appears as if either they want to bring about these cataclysmic results to settle their agenda, and whether one believes in any prophecy or not has become irrelevant, as these things are coming to pass before our eyes.

Pope Francis sadly did not live that full 25 years, so if the predictions are true, we are in for a long haul from here, folks — whether you are of the faith or not.

Regarding Pope Francis' passing:

From the AP: Pope Francis, the first Latin American pontiff who ministered with a charming, humble style, died at age 88 on April 21, 2025 - Easter Monday.

Pope Francis, history’s first Latin American pontiff who charmed the world with his humble style and concern for the poor but alienated conservatives with critiques of capitalism and climate change, died Monday. He was 88.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell spoke from the Chapel at Domus Santa Maria, where the Pope resided, saying, "At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church."

Bells tolled in Catholic churches from Pope Francis' native Argentina to the Philippines, and across Rome as news spread worldwide.

Reports by the Vatican later confirmed that Pope Francis had passed away from a stroke that put him into a coma and ultimately led to his heart to fail.
