Men Who Go To War

The real story behind the phrase. It may shock the "real men" in the world.

This morning started a fire within me about how our military in the US is being run. They have taken the LGBTQ+ out of the military, while using the phrase "REAL MEN GO TO WAR". This morning I woke and started my doom scrolling on TikTok, when a TikToker by the name of The Infernum Asylum (warning: it is a man dressed up as a demon per se, however, his words are true) gave the story, THE TRUE STORY behind the phrase, behind the movie 300. I remember when I was heavily involved in Greek History and Mythology when I was in High School, and vaguely remembered as I listened to his video.

"As a child, you would wait and watch from far away but you always knew that you'd be the one that work while they all play. In youth, you'd lay awake at night and scheme of all the things that you would change but it was just a dream."

Around 380-375 BCE, 4th century, the Spartans were known for their strength, and their Military power at the time was the best. Thebes, at the time, had configured a way to combat this. Three hundred men. However, these weren't men who were picked through a draft of any kind, per se. They gathered 150 couples. GAY COUPLES! Ancient Greece was far more advanced in its time than we are today. It was for a simple reason. When you join the military, you are bonding with complete strangers. Which would mean a higher risk of the men fleeing from the Spartan armies. However, if their loved one was in battle with them, they fought harder than a typical soldier would because the love of their life was on the battlefield too. They would fight together and wouldn't run from the battle. It worked. They won against the Spartans. This group of 300 men, which was 150 couples, beat the meanest and nastiest military regime known in Greece at the time. They were called The Sacred Band of Thebes. This group of military lasted for 40 years until they were beaten when the rest of their platoon ranaway from the battle at Chaeronea (338 BC) against King Phillip II, and his son Alexander the Great. When the King saw these men lying on the ground, dead with their own warriors. He realized that the 300 that stayed behind to fight the battle were lovers; he cried. He then ordered his soldiers that if they were to disrespect any of the enemy soldiers in any way, he himself would kill them. The King saw that they fought for love rather than for war.

"Here we are, don't turn away now (don't turn away). We are the warriors that built this town... From dust... You will have to rise, above the best and prove yourself. Your spirit never dies."

Now, let me be perfectly clear on this. I'm not trying to say to send gay couples to the front lines. What I'm trying to say is, it doesn't matter who you are. Gay, Straight, Bisexual. You are still human, and if you want to serve a greater purpose (well... Not under this administration, F*CK TRUMP, F*CK ICE), then you should be able to do what you wish to do. You shouldn't have to hide behind a false face because you are different from the white male propaganda that the administration is pushing. Real men do go to war. Those who fight for the freedoms of their loved ones, of course.

The administration can say that the military is just a pure powerhouse of men. But that will never be the case. We have men and women, and all the above are working so hard to keep the people, their loved ones, safe from other countries that want to harm us. However, this administration is playing a dangerous game by testing the world entities in what he can and cannot do. The United States of America is the last known Super-Power, and they are using it to their advantage.

All I ask is that our military steps up to the administration and remember that most of their orders are unjust and massively illegal. They have broken several international laws, including breaking several countries' own laws. If you are ignoring what the administration is doing and you voted for this hot-mess express, and now are not being a part of what you voted for, you are a coward.

Real Men go to war. Not pussies. It's time to stand up for what is right before we have nuclear war, because an 80-year-old pedophile sets us in a nuclear war that we will never recover from.
