It was the year 2055, and the world had changed drastically. Technology had advanced beyond anything anyone could have imagined, and society had adapted accordingly.
One of the most revolutionary inventions was the Mind-Reader—a device that could read a person's thoughts and emotions with incredible accuracy. It was used by everyone, from law enforcement to corporations to individual citizens.
Zach was one such citizen. He had been born with a rare condition that made him immune to the Mind-Reader. As a result, he was always an outcast, never able to truly connect with anyone. But he had learned to use his condition to his advantage.
Zach was a thief—a master of disguise and deception. He could walk into a store, steal whatever he wanted, and no one would be the wiser. He had made a good living for himself, but he was always looking for his next big score.
One day, Zach heard about a wealthy businessman who had just received a prototype Mind-Reader that was said to be even more advanced than any other on the market. The device was worth millions, and Zach knew he had to have it.
He spent weeks planning his heist, studying the businessman's routine and scouting out his security measures. Finally, he was ready. He broke into the businessman's mansion in the dead of night, using his skills to avoid detection.
But as he made his way to the device, something strange happened. He began to feel a strange sensation—a pressure in his mind that he had never felt before. It was as if the Mind-Reader was working on him, trying to read his thoughts and emotions.
Zach panicked. He had never been in a situation like this before. He couldn't let the Mind-Reader detect him, or his plan would be ruined. He tried to clear his mind, to focus on the task at hand, but the pressure only grew stronger.
Just as he was about to give up, something strange happened. The Mind-Reader suddenly shut off, as if it had malfunctioned. Zach couldn't believe it. Had his immunity somehow broken the device?
He quickly grabbed the prototype and made his escape. But as he fled, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The pressure in his mind had been too intense, too invasive. He couldn't help but wonder—what if the Mind-Reader had done something to him? What if it had planted something in his mind, something that could be used against him?
Zach couldn't sleep that night. He was consumed with fear and paranoia. He couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him, reading his every thought. He knew he had to get rid of the prototype, to destroy it before it could do any more damage.
He drove to a remote location, miles away from civilization, and set the device on fire. As it burned, he felt a sense of relief. He had done the right thing. He had protected himself, and maybe even protected others.
But as he drove back to his hideout, he couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed. The world seemed different somehow, colder and more isolated. He couldn't help but wonder—had the Mind-Reader changed everything? Had it created a society where privacy was a thing of the past, where thoughts and emotions were no longer private?
Zach didn't know the answer. But he knew one thing for sure—he had to be more careful than ever before. The world was a dangerous place, and the Mind-Reader had only made it more so.
