The Story of Mother Nature

In the beginning of Earth’s days, the Sun God sent down the Great Mother to plant life into the ground. The Sun God and the Great Mother agreed that if she could watch over the earth she planted, then the Sun God would help it grow. The Great Mother loved the earth with all her being. She planted life in every piece of land she stepped upon. First there were lush grass beds and then elegant flowers danced within the grass beds to keep them company. Next there were enormous trees as far as the eye could see in a variety of shapes and colors. Very few days would pass without new creations being built along the horizon and each day the Sun God would appear and help the new life blossom more beautifully each day.

The Great Mother wanted every life she planted to live a vibrant and full life. She would visit each of her creations daily to understand how they felt about the world around them and change anything she could to help. Sometimes, she found that some plant creations weren’t getting enough rain or sun, so she would move trees and mountains to accommodate their needs. As time passed, the Great Mother built an underground network to allow the plants to communicate with each other, granting them the ability to share nutrients with one another so no one went hungry.

One day, the Great Mother noticed that something was different on the land she loved. There seemed to be a missing piece. She went and spoke to her loving creations and they too felt that something was incomplete, as though there was something more to this world that hadn’t been discovered. The Great Mother went to the Sun God and asked him,

“ Sun God, the Earth is so beautiful and mesmerizing. My creations are dynamic and high spirited, though I can’t help but feel my creations are so lonely and seeking more for the world, just as I.”

The Sun god smiled, “ Great Mother, there is nothing you cannot create. If you dream of a more diverse world, then the future of moving energy is earth's new fate.”

“A moving energy…” She said in awe.

The Great Mother was inspired. She experienced visions of a new world unlike any she had thought of before. Much work needed to be done.

The Great Mother began looking for a place to create this new moving energy. One that could grow without being attached to the ground. Maybe even many new energies which move on top of the ground or even soar in the sky. Though there was no place where conditions met the needs of planting such life. The great mother turned to her lovely creations for ideas, yet none of them could understand life without being connected to the Earth itself.

It seemed almost impossible to find such circumstances to nurture this new form of life. Until one afternoon, as the Great Mother was taking a stroll, it began to rain. The Great Mother had created rain to help her planted creations grow with the help of The Sun God. Now, she began to see just how important water may be for her new moving creations as well.

The Great Mother began to create her first pool of water. It was large, it was grand and it soon took over hundreds of miles of undeveloped land. The Great Mother knew that to create life so complex, it would need plenty of time and nurturing to mature. She then began visiting each one of her plant creations as she had done everyday, this time, letting them know it would be much longer before she returned.

“ Great mother, you are our mother, yet you are leaving us to start a new world, a world in water for moving life. Are we not worthy of your care and attention? Are we not special enough to live amongst you?” The plant creations cried.

“ My dear children,” she said sweetly. “ Each and every one of you are my love and joy. I will do everything in my power to bring you everything you could ever need. Let there be no mistake, I am bringing you brothers and sisters to roam and share this Earth with you, to bring a new dimension of life to the Earth, our Earth. Every life on this planet is unique and special and will be filled with my love and attention. For I am not just The Great Mother, I am your mother, Mother Earth.”

Mother Earth departed for the grand pool to begin her creation of moving life. Many years passed as she developed bigger and more complex creations. Though as the years progressed, each one of her plant creations felt their Mother Earth with them always, helping them grow while listening to their needs just as she had always done before. Her love was endless and stretched to every corner of the planet to all beings.

Her moving creations were large and small, swift and intelligent. Some of her moving creations even made their way closer and closer to the edge of the water, while some developed ways to stay above the water for long periods of time. One day, Mother Earth knew it was time to let her creations move beyond the boundaries of water. When they were ready, Mother Earth developed the ability for her creations to breathe on land. They would exchange gases with her plant creations to benefit from each other, allowing synergistic living with all her children. From the beginning of time, her love has encompassed each living creation which has lived on this Earth. Until the end of time, she will forever be our great mother, Mother Earth.
