The First Chapter of Eternal Shadow:
The Beginning of Immortality The year is 2085.

Humans were attempting to colonize Mars and Europa, planets beyond Earth's borders, at the time. AI, quantum computing, and gene editing technology were collectively altering the course of civilization at the fourth stage of the Industrial Revolution. At this point, the internationally renowned geneticist "Life Waves," a surprising technology, was discovered by Dr. Kevin Hudson. This discovery is considered the greatest breakthrough in human history, as it promised immortality.
A Dream Born in the Shadow of Death:
Kevin's Childhood, Kevin was born in Dhaka to a middle-class family, and from a young age, he frequently pondered the question, "Why does death come?" How come cells die? Her father died of a rare cell-destroying disease at the age of 12. Kevin's mind was seized by an uncontrollable impulse at that point: "What if death could be stopped?" This question guided his path.
He joined the "Global Genetic Research Institute" after receiving his doctorate in genetics from Dhaka University. There, the best scientists in the world were working to prevent cell aging. Life Wave: The Science of Denying Death
A unique VRISPR-C7 sequence that enters the human genome, stops the natural process of cell death known as apoptosis, and teaches the cell how to repeatedly renew itself served as the project's primary foundation. In the final test, a 75-year-old man recovered mentally and physically within three months. Not only did the neural regeneration of his brain restore his body, but it also restored his youthful memory speed. The whole world was stunned.
The media focused on— “Death is now the only option.”
"Life Wave: God's hand in human intervention?"
"Kevin Hudson – Humanity's liberator!"
The world started to wait.
The first batch of "life wave treatments" cost billions of rupees, and wealthy and influential people paid for them. The Chinese president, an American tech tycoon, and an Indian industrialist all started to live forever. When life becomes a commodity, the business of immortality Initially, this technology was limited only to the elite. Later, a controversial scheme known as "LifeLoan" was launched. Taking out a loan was now an option for those seeking immortality. However, the working conditions were harsh—long hours, taxes, and a strict lifestyle. The poor were slaves to a controlled life while the wealthy class became eternal elites. Some were unable to repay their loans and were forced to work the same job in the same city for 130 years. Shadows began to gather
Kevin maintained his belief that this technology was beneficial. But one day, he encountered a strange incident.
A woman arrived and wept in front of his lab. She was 119 years old, her body was not tired, her face was not wrinkled—but there was a deep emptiness in her eyes.
He informs Kevin — My son succumbed to cancer. My grandson committed suicide. I am living alone, leaving everything behind. Kevin, do you know how your discovery has made my life a living hell?”
Kevin is taken aback. She starts to have a lot of questions in her head. She is unable to sleep at night. Then more terrifying information starts to emerge—
Some immortals are beginning to forget things. Many are forgetting their identities.
Some people's hearts are breaking down; they no longer love or cry. Their brains display a brand-new neural pattern that is only produced when people live a meaningless life for an extended period of time. Kevin is aware that humanity cannot be saved by the life wave, despite its ability to save cells. There is a serious problem. The corporation's CEO prevents her from raising the issues during the board meeting. "Kevin, people want to live right now. They only care about the outcomes and have no memory of who saved them. We'll think of the ideas, you do the research. Kevin's heart was hit like a cannon by this. He realized that his discovery was now business rather than science. The secret route to the remedy Kevin began working outside the lab, in one of the last natural areas on earth—in a secret lab called the “Green Circle.”
There, he attempted to develop a "life wave antidote," a genetic sequence that would slowly return cells to their natural death path in order to allow them to adapt to the body. This technology would again significantly limit human life. It would bring back death—not fear, but the beauty of the end.
However, the company could smell his work. They put spies on Kevin’s trail.
The beginning of the end
Cyberattacks targeted Kevin's lab system one evening. Data has been leaked. His assistant Jerin warns him.
Jerin asserts, Kevin, they are coming. We are out of time. That night, Kevin realized that this conflict is now about humanity as well as science. Her research isn’t just about antidotes now—it could be the world’s final salvation.
The following episode is titled "Under the Shadow."
