"Hi! You probably don't know me and I for sure don't know you yet. So let me introduce myself. My name is Alora and I'm probably the protagonist of this story. I don't really know for sure, as well, Krysta hasn't wrote it yet. It's how her brain works. Creative process and all that. The thing is while I live in her brain, she's given me life before in a past story. That story kind of vanished or at least she can't find it now. I know she looked. A bit half heartedly but she did look. Not enough to actually plug in her old hard drive to see if it was on there. Let's not be too hard on her, she was having a migraine at the time. Between you and me she also had some stomach issues but she didn't want me to tell ya that. Now I know that's probably hurting your brain a bit right now. Or hell, maybe it's not but let's get something out of the way right now. The 'forth wall' doesn't really exist for me. I know I'm a character in a story. Krysta knows that I know I'm a character in a story. It's our relationship. I give her motivation, inspiration and content. She gives me life. It's a nice little symbiotic relationship that you're now a part of! Yeah, yeah I know, nobody asked you if it was alright for me to take up residence in your brain. Don't worry I don't plan on mucking with anything. Not that I really could anyway. See I can't do anything that you don't allow me to do. So I'm perfectly safe and comfortable in your little brain. Well, I could be a bit more comfortable if you'd imagine me sitting on a nice red leather chair, like from one of those old detective movies. You know the ones with the metal buttons as accents and that wonderful scent of tobacco and old book smell permanently saturated into the leather."

Suddenly the sound of air rushing from the cushion of an old chair fills the empty void as Alora makes herself comfortable in her favorite chair.

"Thanks for that! Now see this is a lesson in who I am, what I do, and what part you play. I can not exist on my own. The words found here give me some life but on their own without a reader I exist in only one mind, Krysta's. But her and I have a different relationship then you and I do. The version of me found in her mind is an active player in this story. I'll help her write it. I might even change it some if I don't like where she's taking me. But you and the me in your mind have a different relationship. I will look different in your mind then I do in hers. I'll sound different, move different, have a different hair style, maybe even a different eye color depending on how much detail she makes me have in the following pages. Right now my eyes are blue but if you already had a picture in your mind before she imposed hers into this story than that's who I am to you. Told ya I was gonna hurt your brain a bit. If it helps any, think of your brain like a parallel reality that interacts with the one found in this story. Or another way to think about it is that this story is your inspiration for making me exist within your memories. You and I can go places where she and I never will. You see after this story I'll continue on inside your mind. We'll have a relationship that'll continue, hopefully, well after you're done reading here. Some parts of me will always be the same. For example I'm a nice person and I love animals. That's part of me and always will be but other parts will be made by you. So join me, Krysta, and the other me in your mind, as we find out where this story goes and where we'll take each other after all of this is done. I don't know what the next part will hold but I'm looking forward to it. So, while I will never know your name it'd be nice if you could introduce yourself to me. Krysta you're up take it away!"

Alora, sitting across from you in her comfy chair smiles at you. Looking around the empty white space she shakes her head softly. Standing up for a moment her hands form a square like some artistic director trying to visualize a scene. A moment later the sound of a roaring fire fills the empty place just behind her fingers. With the now crackling fire as a backdrop she gestures to a new chair one of your own making sitting across from her. She smiles again before returning to her seat.

"Nice chair. I'm Alora as you know. What's your name?"

She asks before leaning in to listen for your response.

"That's a lovely name. And yes before you ask I do know what it is. No the paper doesn't but you need to separate those two Aloras. The one that matters right now is the one who knows your name and heard your response. Or maybe you were rude and didn't introduce yourself. But let's talk about that shall we?"

She says before pouring both of you a drink from the fridge. Handing you your favorite cup she smiles, crossing her ever moving legs, you can feel the vibrations through the floor as she continues to bounce one leg on top of the other.

"Relax I'm friendly and there's no one here but us. Now what would you like to talk about? Krysta's energy is about spent as it's nearly 2:30am as she's writing this. So there won't be another part to the 'story' till she's had some time to rest. But we can keep talking if you wish. Krysta? You can do the fade out thing. I'll take it from here now."

With that you and Alora continue talking in a place and time where neither have any meaning. What is said and how your relationship with her progresses will never be known to anyone but the two of you. However, it's very clear that she's happy you've made a space for her to live in your mind and she's excited to see where you and her will go.
