Chapter I: Preamble

Far into the future, there has been the possibility of living not only on Mars, but on the world of Europa, Jupiter’s moon; or as it has come to be known as, Europa Jovia. However, this is the first planet in which the distance between itself and Earth has been a potential issue, as well as ethical and cultural stances have been brought to light. How many humans would volunteer to be the spearheads of the Europa Jovia Project? How can all cultures and backgrounds be represented in case there is potential life on the Jovian moon that would best describe the entirely of humans and our nations? But then, when would the Jovian culture be able to develop on its own independently? Remembering lessons of the past, the United Nations came to the conclusion that standard colonization must be avoided, together with any potential future problems of allowing Terran cultures have a sense of superiority over the developing Jovian culture.

Thus, there were a few solutions that were brought to light. By the Treaty of Palestine, the United Nations were to recognize the future developing culture of Europa Jovia as a complete phenomena, with enacting entity theory: it must be observed and accepted, but never tampered with. It must grow organically, and from numerous cultural backgrounds. With the Treaty of Bangladesh, the fledgling nation of Europa Jovia must assimilate into the new environment, and avoid the past human ways of colonization. If there is to be sentient life on Europa Jovia upon arrival, then the initial life must not be manipulated through any outside sociopolitical force deriving from the human nation, nor be culturally redirected by any means of potential human gain, whether it be a resource, strategic, topographical gain, or otherwise. If Europa Jovia is to have sentient life, then the human nation will develop in the pre-planned areas marked out from T-JASA, or Terran-Jovian Aeronautics and Space Administration. From the Treaty of Armenia, there must be representation from every single culture from Earth, and not a single nation can be left out if there is to be true representation of the Terran culture as a whole to other possible sentient races that may or may not be coming into contact with upon the first human nation of Europa Jovia. Thus, to truly have diversity, the United Nations recognized through the Treaty of Armenia that the first nation of Europa Jovia must be a true nation of people, in the very essence of the definition, inside and out. The backbone of every Terran culture must be included: scholars, artists, historians, linguists, archivists, orators, musicians, dancers, ethnomusicologists, traditional and folk musicians, archaeology anthropologists, philosophers, and honored keepers of cultures past and present. By the decree of the Treaty of Armenia, the first nation must not be intentionally small, as there must be equal cultural representation reflected in healthy numbers across the board. By the Treaty of Benin, the spearhead nation of Europa Jovia must be led through a four-branch elected council modeled after the foundation of the United Nations, the process of which is a rigorous peer review from every voice of the new nation, and devoid of political powers and gains with the future promises and visions of the potential electorates requiring to be followed through, else the seat be freed and open to the other original candidates. By the further articles in the Treaty of Benin, the First Nation of Europa Jovia shall have independence in the nation’s own search for primary goals, which may broaden from Jovanology, or the study of the Jovian systems, including Europa.

Through the First Decree of Humane Exploration by the Treaty of Antarctica-Greenland, the science community of the FNEJ (First Nation of Europa Jovia) shall explore the non-assimilated parts of Europa Jovia through non-invasive investigations that honor and protect the natural integrity of the original topographical, ecological, and biological systems, with research propositions to be extensively reviewed by the Council of Jovian Science in coordination with the first established universities of Europa Jovia through the coordinated endorsements by the United Nations of Earth, UNESCO, Antarctic Science Foundation, FNEJ, among others.

The Endorsement of Interglobal Humane Culture and Integrity cites, in conjunction with the Treaties Five of Foundation (Palestine, Bangladesh, Armenia, Benin, Antarctica-Greenland), the first artificial greenhouse globes made for similar temperature and atmospheric conditions of Earth shall be made on the Europan Rectangle, the sites previously discovered: Rhadamanthys Linea, Cilix, Manann’an, and Argadnel Regio. Until these four cities are cited extensively and reviewed and proven to have successfully assimilated humanely into the ecosystems of Europa Jovia, then the following sites may be sought to create additional human cities: Agneor Linea, Thera Macula, Thrace Macula, Tyre, Conamara Chaos, Callanish, and Pwyll. Although the greenhouse bubble-globes will be able to protect against the intense radiation from the Sun even through Europa Jovia’s thin atmosphere, the gravitational pull, especially being in close vicinity to Jupiter’s wide breadth of influence, presented a problem. Under the normal gravitational conditions of Europa Jovia, the human body would completely shatter under the Jovian gravity, so with the first mass shuttle to the moon, a gravitational acclimation must be taken into consideration. With the Primus Shuttle lifting off to Europa Jovia, the equipment for the gravitational acclimation area bubble-generator, together with the foundation of the greenhouse bubble cities will be stored as well.

With the interwoven Treaties Five of Foundation, the Endorsement of Interglobal Humane Culture and Integrity, the bravery of the all-voluntary First Nation of Europa Jovia, and the blessing of the entirety of the Terran United Nations, the progeny of Europa Jovia was born. The stories here are but a window into the human’s search for meaning as they point to the stars and dream of living in the unknown otherworlds.

Notes on Jovian Culture and Government, part i: Author Unknown

As the humans came from the shuttle Primus that was the mass shuttle transporting the beginnings of the First Nation of Europa Jovia from Earth over to the planet proper, what came as an unexpected surprise was that the humans were not wrong about Jupiter being the planet of expansion. From the modern twist on the ancient philosophy of the astrological archetypes, Jupiter is represented through expansion and growth of mind and soul; and through the dust settling upon first landing on Rhadamanthys Linea upon the face of Europa, it seemed that the planet itself was granting its blessing to the unconscious nation and awaited their awakening as the gravitation acclimation and greenhouse city globe began their touchdown procedures.

When the First Awakening occurred across the entire FNEJ (the Jovian year is currently debated whether to call a year Anno Jovia or A.F.A, After First Awakening), the main natural cultural influence throughout came to be a reverence for Jupiter, and thus a renewed inspiration to look back to the ancient Greek and Roman pantheons of gods. Jupiter, Zeus, the king of the mythological gods - it was quite a shock to see up so close what ancient humans looked up to in the very same sky. A single, shining star in the Terran night sky becoming the very same Jovial King. A majority of the FNEJ uttered similar words and perspectives where it was more or less affirming the ancient history and mythology that people back on Earth toiled over for millennia, as if it was the first perspective outside the eyes of the human race to confirm a deep search of meaning that has been an unspoken plague for us. From this renewed vigor, the Annals of Jupiter were written by the Councils and Peoples of the First Nation of Europa Jovia, as the nation’s constitution and central philosophy reinforced together with the Five Treaties of Foundation and the EIHCI (Endorsement of Interglobal Humane Culture and Integrity).

As the FNEJ settled and gradually completed the humane assimilation protocols while building outwards from Rhadamanthys Linea to the other of Europa Jovia’s Rectangle Points (shortened to the EJRP, or “the Points,” through the evolving colloquialism): Cilix, Manann’an, and Argadnel Regio, there was a deepening anxiety over the fact that no extraterrestrial aliens or sentient specimens were present on the ice crust surface, nor the little-explored shallows of the unfathomable sub-ocean of the planet. Throughout the entire Rectangle Expansion period, there were two camps of thought: one was upholding the EIHCI and banning any and all actions that were intended to explore the enormous sub-ocean sea, whereas the other camp was fervent about seeing how much humans can progress in their explorations, and find the answers the Terran science community has been asking for through all of the tumultuous millennia. Articles through the multiple independent news outlets of the FNEJ labeled these two camps the Preservationists, and the Colonists. From this first political-scientific battle of the newborn FNEJ, the watershed occurrence that was key in overturning the Colonists was the thesis-speech from Nasreen al-Najjar, and was heralded as the “muse” of the Treaty of Palestine. This in turn created a wave amongst the Councils of the FNEJ, bringing about an amendment to include a separate but equally influencing judicial branch specializing in upholding each of the Treaties Five, the EIHCI, and a small, independent offshoot of the Councils of the FNEJ, called the Scions of the Annals of Jupiter. Thus Nasreen al-Najjar became the first ever Muse of the Treaty of Palestine, or Muse of Palestine, together with the other inducted Muses of Bangladesh, Armenia, Benin, and Anarctica-Greenland. The position for the keeper of the EIHCI came to be dubbed as the Scholar of the EIHCI, or colloquially as the Seichi. Written into the first universities of Europa Jovia - each greenhouse-globe city of the Europan Rectangle founding one university - were the First Decrees of the Jovian University Sanctamonium, in tandem with the Primary Amendments of the Annals of Jupiter, that the Muses and the Seichi will be an equal and separate power to the Councils of the FNEJ, and when there shall be movements that may jeopardize the peace of humans upon Europa Jovia, then the majority of the Council must temporarily cede governmental power to the Muses and Seichi.

With this introduction, I hope the reader will be enlightened on the makings of new exoplanetary culture and government outside of Lunar Node Sectors of the Moon, and the Terran Nations.
