MYSTIC analysis tool

The long sought key

By Aster WarovskyPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

You know why you're all here, so I'll get right to it. MYSTIC was meant to make our lives easier, what with the ability to record and store all of the phone calls and messages around the entire world we would have expected to have made some progress on the war on terror. As part of the five eyes community (NZ,UK,CAN,AUS,USA) we developed this initiative to capture, store and analyse all of this data thinking we would be the masters of the world, supremely omniscient, that we could use all of this information to find the bad guys and connect all the dots. But it's such a mess! By the time we sift through the mountains of ones and zeroes the trail is already cold and we've lost another lead, another disastrous operation that we couldn't figure out. I'm not the only one whose noticed this, I was speaking to Oscar Mike at the NSA the other day and he says its like looking for a needle in a haystack, we just don't have the man hours to spend on this. There has to be a better way.

Why don't we get the publics help on this? Like in those missing cases or amber alerts, they say two heads are better than one. But no one would voluntarily go for this, especially if they knew they were helping us to spy on them. We would need a reward of some kind, something to incentivise tech savvy people to use their hardware to solve our problems. We could set up a type of botnet that connects computers to each other and uses their combined computing power to sift through all this noise. They would be helping us build the AI system to seamlessly analyse our data and speed it up. We could give them like a bitmedal or a bitcoin each time they solve an equation that is a piece of the puzzle putting us one step closer figuring this out.

This all sounds complicated how will we get the publics buy in without clueing them in? I know a few agents in our Tokyo office who have been tracking bio-hackers on the dark web. They say that they've got a guy inside running the show who's some sort of computer hacker genius. He goes by 'Satoshi Nakamoto' weird mysterious guy. He says the criminal underworld have been searching for a decentralised digital currency to conduct their operations without being tracked by law enforcement, they use these encrypted chat rooms as well. But how will we get this to catch on? He's developed a new technology called a blockchain database that we can use to do the legwork of MYSTIC. Wait wait wait, so you're telling me that we would be using criminal's computers to voluntarily solve the equations that we would be using to catch them? Yeah and we need to make sure this never comes back to us in the five-eyes or MYSTIC, that's why Satoshi's perfect for this, genius huh?
