From a small town in the deep south lived a young girl named Luna. Many people from the town had different names for the girl, witch, sorcerer, physic among other hateful names they could come up with and snickered under their breathes as she walked past. But really, she was just a girl who dreamt things. She went to school, did activities, had friends the only thing that was different from those of the small towns people is that she had dreams of things to come. At first, she thought it was just a sense of déjà vu soon she realized things were happening exactly the way she saw in her sleep. The first time it happened Luna was 9 years old she had a dream of her father eating dinner with another family, there were kids and another woman even a dog. Luna was only 9 so like any other child would do she woke up and told her mother of her dream she had dreamt the night before. At first hearing the story her mother said, “Oh sweetie it is just a dream”. Luna’s father was a traveling salesman, so he was on the road a lot but always was sure to call and send gifts and souvenirs from all the places he traveled. He was not home much but still her mother insisted it was just a dream. That day Luna came home from school and her mother asked her to sit down and describe what this woman looked like, so she did from her hair to her facial features. Her mom froze in disbelief of what she heard. Next thing Luna knew she was giving her mom all the details of the dream for her mother to write down and look over. She was just a little girl who had a dream, next thing she knew everything was changing her mother and father got divorced, her father confessed to having another family after Luna’s mother found multiple pictures of another woman, a house and a puppy (exactly the same breed Luna had mentioned before) hidden in her father’s files labeled “Tax Stuff”. The people of the town started to talk the word around town was that “the little girl had a vision and knew what was going on”. From that point on Luna did not speak much about her dreams she did not want anything like that to happen again all she knew was she was the weird girl who broke up her family because of something she saw in her sleep.
Time pasted and Luna grew older and still could see through her dreams but did not speak on it to other people, except her best friend Minnie. Minnie never judged she always just listened and helped if need be. There was one-time Luna had a dream about a young girl who was lost at a carnival. The town always had an annual Harvest Carnival Fest at the end of the harvest season. Luna knew exactly where, when and what the little girl looked like who was going to get separated from her family. Luna gave this information to Minnie and she executed the plan it went swift, when the little girls’ parents asked how she found her so quickly Minnie said she was just in the right place at the right time. Luna and Minnie did this anytime Luna got a dream that someone she could help needed it. In between those dreams Luna had been having different ones these dreams were not like her visions, but they were more like an old black and white movie, no words, no color just picture and movement. She had a series of theses dreams that came in 4 pieces. After she woke from the dream each time Luna would illustrate what she had just dreamt, after seeing all the pieces of the dreams and illustrating them out Luna called Minnie over to her house. She told her about what she had been seeing and asked Minnie if she would stay as she pieced together her pictures. “Of course, I will” Minnie added as she egged on Luna to put the pieces of the illustrations together quickly. One piece, two, three, then four all the pieces came together, and Luna and Minnie looked confused it was a picture of a small black notebook on under a park bench. Luna was used to her dreams either helping people or changing their lives, so this picture confused her. Minnie recognized the graffiti in the illustration to a park nearby she told Luna it is only a couple blocks up the street that if she wanted to go there, they could.
Luna and Minnie began to walk it only took about 20 minutes for them to get there from Luna’s house once they got to the park everything looked exactly like Luna’s pictures showed. The notebook was there under a park bench in the dirt, Luna picked it up and dusted it off. The title of the notebook read The Velvet Queen. The notebook seemed to have been old and all handwritten. Luna and Minnie sat on the bench and read the tale of the Velvet Queen who used the powers of the universe to her advantage to receive, manifest and gift anything her desired and needed. The book spoke of all the gifts she bestowed upon people and all the love she was able to exude with her aura just by entering the room. At the end of the notebook the last page was written in calligraphy with the words “To whom the universe has chosen now I bestow a gift upon you” then a key fell out of the pages. Luna and Minnie were at a loss for words, Luna touched the key and then got this sudden feeling she should look under the bench again. She told Minnie “I think we should dig a little further in the dirt” and so they did and there they found a box. It was a shallow hole it was a mystery to Luna as to how the box had not been uncovered by the weather, a dog or animal because Luna and Minnie uncovered it very quickly. Luna used the key to open the box, the key was a perfect fit. Once the box was opened to Luna and Minnie’s surprise it was filled with money. They froze in disbelief. Both petrified with confusion and excitement both girls decided to go home and figure what to do from there.
Once they returned to Luna’s house, they counted the money, and discovered it was 20,000 dollars! The girls were thrilled after many adventures together helping people anyway, they could from the dreams that Luna dreamt she thought “could this really be a gift that was destined to be?” Luna remembered back to when she was a kid and all the towns people called her names for being different, then she remembered the tale of the velvet queen, how people called her different at first as well. They did not understand, but she still used her gifts to prove the hate wrong she never wavered but got stronger in what she believed and manifested constant love and greatness for herself and anyone she encountered. Having this thought Luna shared it with Minnie and asked her how she felt if they used the to continue the ways of the velvet queen. Luna explained to Minnie that with this wisdom of the velvet queen, the site of her dreams and now the gift that was bestowed upon them they could do amazing things. Minnie agreed 100% she also felt that the gift that was bestowed upon them from the velvet queen was not only the money but the knowledge of true universal magic and how she harnessed its powers. The girls did just that they used the money to fund everything they needed to help anyone in need that Luna saw in her dreams. Among that Luna and Minnie allocated some of the funds for community education on unlocking and harnessing the powers of the universe just as the velvet queen did.
Luna realized that to be different is to be beautiful and that any gift she was given from the universe it is just that…a gift. The tale of the small black notebook titled “The Velvet Queen” will forever be a reminder for Luna that she is, we all are, strong intentional beings of the universe who can harness and manifest great power to live a life of serenity as our heart desires.
