Faust in space

I haven't written science fiction for a long time. The last time I talked about science fiction with you was last year's Star Trek starring Peter.
It is a soft science fiction of inner drama, through the hero's interstellar journey, deep exploration of the lonely boundless human heart.
Recently, by chance, I came across a small budget science fiction film from Sweden and Denmark.
It has the same content as Astra Quest, but is more shocking in its thematic depth and breadth of ideas, and is an epic prophecy of the future of mankind.
The poster has the immediate feel of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the depression and loneliness in the film are indeed reminiscent of the sci-fi blockbuster.
"Aniara" may be a Nordic sci-fi anomaly, but it is not small.
The film is based on the Nobel Prize-winning Swedish poet and novelist Harry Martinson's novel of the same name.
The original novel is written in poetry, and is the only poetic science fiction novel to win the Nobel Prize so far. It is known as "Faust in space".
The legend of the original alone, people can't help but find out.
And the film is also very poetic, the film not only science fiction, cult, psychological, thriller elements, there is a large-scale drama.
The story opens with people taking a space elevator to the Aniara spacecraft, ready to set off for a trip to Mars.
From the outside, the Aniara looks like a rectangular ark, but inside it looks like an enormous shopping mall, with a capacity of more than 100,000 people.
Inside, there is a complete self-contained ecological circulation system of pure natural air, food, drinking water and so on. Each floor also has different functions, such as supermarket, swimming pool, guest room and so on. It all adds up to a time when space travel has become commonplace.
Mima, the heroine, is a psychotherapist on the ship.
In the long time space travel, people are prone to some bad emotions and psychological diseases, such as loneliness and depression, claustrophobia, deep space fear and so on.
The heroine's job is to use a brain wave imaging system named MIMA to relieve people's emotions and treat psychological diseases.
MIMA can be linked to a person's memory, putting them into a hypnotic state and dreaming of comfortable situations.
For example, she likes nature, so she often uses MIMA to let herself go to the green mountains and rivers to walk along the river and relax.
Don't come here she healing people are not many, so she became the most lonely people on the ship.
And considerate MIMA, became her only partner.
A short time later, something unexpected happens. The ship is hit by space debris and loses fuel and power.
That would mean not only the trip to Mars, but also the return to Earth, and people would have to wander in space with the spacecraft.
As you can imagine, this terrible news caused panic in everyone.
But the captain brought another piece of good news. He said that as long as the ship passed near a celestial body, it could use gravity to make the ship return to the earth's course... Ideally, it would take two years.
The captain's words were of little comfort, but still gave many hope of returning to Earth.
After accepting the fact, all one can do is wait.
In this way, to find Japanese treatment of the people gradually become more, she also became busy.
During the first year of the ship's wandering, people still lived as usual, occasionally visiting MIMA Hall for psychotherapy.
With the contact of more and more people, she also gradually cheerful.
One day she returned happily to her room, only to learn from her roommate that they would never make it back.
Roommate is a rigorous astronomer, she knew she said the weight of this sentence, it just understand, the original captain deceived everyone.
Sudden blow, she was scared to suffocate, she picked up the bottle drunk, went to MIMA hall to "dream" breathe "fresh air".
In a flash, it was the third year of the ship's wandering.
She found that some people are still dancing carnival, as if drunk, unaware.
And some people have abnormal conditions, where they convulse during the MIMA treatment.
She used instruments to extract their dreams, they found that they dream of war, death and other horrific scenes, many people therefore nervous breakdown.
She wanted to suspend the MIMA system to repair and adjust.
However, the long-term backlog of negative emotions has made the MIMA system overwhelmed and collapsed.
After this, people's mental illness even more out of control. In order to evade responsibility, the captain gave the Japanese crown on the destruction of MIMA charges, put her in prison.
Wait until two years later, she is released from prison, she found that the people on the spaceship have been living like a walking dead, everyone is in danger.
Only there is a female crew named Isabel, to the Japanese embrace with goodwill.
They soon become lovers and have a good time together.
But the collapse of the environment eventually destroyed everything.
At this time, the captain as the representative of the ruler, the implementation of high-pressure rule; The passengers below formed various cult cliques.
Some of them did not eat or drink, fasted and prayed;
Some crawl on their knees, confessing their SINS;
Others directly act on God's behalf, condemn people, and start murdering people.
And anyone who doesn't join one of these cults is considered a heretic.
Helpless, she and Isabel were forced to participate in the cult ceremony, and everyone together, paint on the face, dance carnival, indescribable large group sex...
After this, Isabel gives birth to a baby boy, but the end of the world awaits the new arrival -- she eventually kills the child in a nervous breakdown and then kills herself.
Like her, most of the people on board had lost all hope, had become spiritually numbed by religious fanaticism, and could only slowly perish.
Then, the time span slowly lengthened, and in the 24th year, the ship ran out of energy and food, and there were only a dozen people left.
After losing artificial light, their eyes have deteriorated and become blind
After that, time jumps straight to five million years.
Lifeless, the Aniara is still floating in the Lyra constellation, 587 light years from Earth.
The ship is hard to see, a drop in the ocean, illuminated by a giant star.
The texture of the whole film is precisely this kind of loneliness, smallness, depth and helplessness.
This is the creator of a pessimistic prediction of human destiny.
When the earth's resources are exhausted, the only choices left to us are to sit back and die or to fly into space. The former has a slim chance of survival, while the latter will face the unknown risks of the vastness of space.
This film is the life course of a spaceship, rehearsed a possible human interstellar journey.
The only home for human existence is the earth on which we live. May we be able to protect it from the day when it is abandoned by the mother who nourished all things.
