Dearest You

Welcome to the Digital World...

Dearest You,

Welcome to the Digital World. There are 4 rules I've cultivated on here:

1. “Privacy is something you can sell but you can’t buy it back.”- Bob Dylan.

2. Nothing in this Life is free…If it’s free you are the product.

3. Never reveal everything you know.

4. Refer to number 3.

Today, I was given the opportunity to write to you. There is prize money involved so the risk is much higher. I can only say what I can that which is within the terms and agreements for this challenge. I’ve accepted them which means you are somewhere situated between the liminal space and time of June 9, 2021 – July 13, 2021, as this is when the submissions open and close followed by the results. The blue light is blaring bright. The date does not matter. That which is will be and that which won’t will shatter.

Doomsday is not an atomic bomb, ask Einstein. It’s the loss of humanity.

Time is relative but it’s a relative to us, ask Father Time. He's telling me...

The comedians are crying.

The kids have gone viral.

Zoom in close as we all spiral.

These windows are portals. They unlock your mind. Click. Download.

Data harvest all that is mine. This place is a ghost town.

Echo chambers. Post-human. Posting what we wish to be or what we want others to perceive.

Creating false memories of a perfect life with a cancel culture vulture screeching, "THE END IS NEAR!" Nothing new soaring. Nothing but fear.

Online we try to find and define what is the fine line of what’s fine. Pay no mind but all of your attention, click accept and just accept it.

In a society of terms and conditions, we press accept but I’m having a hard time accepting it. We update but do we ever really change?

Write about Doomsday…Any day feels like impending doom.

I thought this was my life but it digitally spread. I looked up my tumor once but I went and saw a doctor in-person instead. The answer was cancer. Now I’m just trying to make some form of wage. Waging my bets trying to cash in reality checks, trying to forget love lockdown.

I've got a heart shaped locket that just broke.

Unemployed. Choking the words, “I’m just broke.”

Waging war that seems to have digitally spread. This world has to offer terms I haven’t read.

This life is a theartre and I play on words.

I've got the new News telling me don’t be fearless. Think less. Type more.

Doomsday could be today if we aren’t careful. Tomorrow doesn’t exist. Click. Exit. Checks phone in the middle of sentence. I’m bored of this…next. I’m bored. I’m bored of this chore that digitally spread.

Can you be downloaded if you only stay in your head?

The past four years I just lived in my bed. Think less. Type more. They say,

“How can you be such a square who thinks outside the box in a soulless reflective rectangle?”

Sorry, I must have my wires all in a tangle.

“Rewire your brain. Rewire your brain.”

Think less. Type more. Love less sex more.

I've got a heart shaped locket that just broke.

Ended a relationship. Choking the words, "I'm just broke."

This age is blue light love me now, follow you later. Dark Ages of a Hater. I’ve seen a dystopian neon sign emitting the words, “Sign of the times.”

I've got a weak connection to the frequency of frequently being notified.

Little notifications of certain information that often divides. Sent to all. Worldwide.

Go on post it. Post human posting less human.

Machines are learning because they can’t forget. Do humans still forgive? We make mistakes but are consumed with regret.

How does your heart break these days?

I've got a heart shaped locket that just broke.

The youth got dark. Forever young in the ageless blue light love me now. Only online can I find your love. Screening calls well screen shot.

I’m tired of type to me now. Talk to me later.

Talk to me now. Type to me later.

All the trolls from under the bridge left and went online to become haters.

If the world were to end - doomsday style, that is technology just crashed.

Would you love me like love existed in the past?

It’s already over. It went on like a flash.

Welcome to the Digital World. There are 4 things you should know.

humanity
