Coco Island

Have you ever been mesmerized by a sunrise or sunset? Both can be magical and often take your breath away. It has been said that the most beautiful sunrise and sunset can be witnessed on Coco Island. It is one of the most beautiful hidden gems. The story of Coco Island is a mysterious one, just like life itself. Everything that lives, grows and breathes there receives its energy from a beautiful power source. It is loving, giving and always present. The islanders respect this power source and protect Coco island because of her generosity. Coco island calls a young American woman named Ruby and leads her to a mystic man that will change her life forever. This power source gifts Ruby a mysterious small black book. This little black book has been hiding from the rest of the world, but this mysterious book will not remain hidden, for it has chosen someone to find it.

Ruby is a gentle soul who would give the shirt off her back for anyone that needs it. But those that often give and give get tired. She works a 9-5 job that she does not find fulfilling and is wanting more out of life. It has been a long time since her last vacation, so it seems like now is the best time for a trip. Something tugged at her spirit and for some reason she wanted to go somewhere she has never been. Being a fire sign, she secretly seeks adventure but never makes the time. After searching the internet for perfect destination for days, Ruby heard a whisper saying, “coco island.” It was soft and gentle, and she trusted it. Ruby remembered a cousin who moved to Coco island when they were younger to become a singer, so she booked a flight to visit her cousin. She had so many mixed emotions because she has never traveled alone and far. She was excited and yet anxious for what awaits her. After stepping out of the plane, she felt the sun touch her face and she immediately took a deep breath in. The weather was perfect, and the air was pure. She thought, “I really needed this.” There was a distant wave, and someone was yelling her name, it was her cousin Lucy. She was just as beautiful from when they were kids. Ruby dropped her bag and ran to give her a hug and they both shed tears of joy. As Lucy and Ruby drove through the island, she could not believe how beautiful it was. The trees danced from the wind, and the hills and wildlife looked so majestic. She felt connected to everything and did not know why. It was as if every living thing spoke to her.

Lucy lived by the beach and one had to travel through dirt roads to get to her beach house. As they got near, Ruby’s eyes were drawn to a small, little beach hut with coconut trees and a pretty garden. The garden looked like it was glowing. An older man appeared and began watering the garden and smiled while pointing in a direction as they drove by. Jet lag began to set. Ruby thought it was all in her imagination; it was time for a nap. Finally resting, she thought, “I can’t wait to fall asleep…red flower.” She heard another whisper but this time it was louder. Tired and confused, Ruby did not know what to think. The random whisper was interesting enough to wake her up. She mentioned red flower to Lucy and to her surprise, a large tree with beautiful red flowers stood tall behind the beach house. “This island won’t let me sleep!” She says, out of frustration. She wanted an adventure and she is going to get what she asked for. She made her way down the path to the beach and saw the tall tree with red flowers. To her surprise, the old man was there. “What is up with creepy old man,” she thought. He was gazing out into the ocean and did not move an inch as she approached him. It was like as if he knew she would be coming. He turned and smiled and said, “thank you for coming.” She had a puzzled look and so he introduced himself. “My name is Memmo, I hope you are well. I believe you were called here, and I think you know that, yes?” Ruby shook her head and stayed silent. It all made sense now. Her inner desire to want more and find something that would fill that void. Memmo took a deep breath in and closed his eyes like he was meditating on his next words. “I have a message for you. That which is loving and powerful has told me to lead you to that tree. You must reach inside it.” As she turned to look at the tree, and turned back to ask Memmo why, he was no where to be found. Memmo had vanished in the wind and Ruby was left with so many questions. At this point, there was no reason for questioning, so she walked to the tree and followed instructions. With fear and anxiety, she reaches inside the hollow space and felt something familiar; it was a small black book.

In that moment, ruby knew she found what she was searching for. As she opened the book, she read the words, “WHAT YOU SEARCH FOR IS WITHIN. ASK THE UNIVERSE AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE.” A tear rolled down her cheek and she instantly was overwhelmed with love. For the first time, she felt love for herself and realized She was what she searched for. Ruby closes her eyes and wishes that she was able to quit her job and find passion once again. She runs to share the news with Lucy and before she gets the words out, Lucy hands her an envelope and says, “An old man said you dropped this earlier.” Ruby rips the envelop open and finds a ticket inside. She scratches the ticket and finds out that she has won the lottery for 1million. She pauses, smiles, and stares at her cousin Lucy and says, “We need to talk.”
