Assisted Reality & Augmented Reality to Assist Medical Professionals at their work.

Medical Fields has very advanced methodologies and machinery to assist medical professionals to perform their tasks seamlessly. From the Operating Rooms to the Radiation Rooms, or Scanning Rooms these techniques and technologies have made the medical sector highly advanced. However, there is always some room for improvement, Augmented Reality became an improvement in modern times, and now I am pretty sure, Assisted Reality will also become an integral part of Medical Advancements in modern times.

How AR Would Assist In The Future

It has the potential to help in the study of anatomy, it opens the door to the acknowledgement of surgeons as well as patients. Visual and textual representation often lead to confusion. Self-practical experimentation helps in understanding better than all the other criteria.

When a person is able to see/locate where the pain has been arising, it could easily be cured. Similarly, it allows patients to tell in a more efficient manner the doctor about their problem and it results in the appropriate treatment, accordingly! While locating a vein nurses have to do several attempts before reaching the target, these attempts or mistakes can be avoided by using AR

Assisted Reality will soon be one of the most promising digital health technologies. As for the sake of an argument, the head-mounted AR headsets by RealWear which I got from RealTime AR, could very easily assist a medical professional during surgery. The question is how can it assist a doctor during surgery? Well as a matter of fact, sometimes major surgeries require assistance from senior doctors, which apparently or occasionally have to travel for the surgery. Keeping this in view, what if we can show to the doctor the patient during surgery, remotely through High Definition cameras, along with microphones and speakers to listen and interact. As a result, it will be a huge plus point to have a senior doctor connected to the surgeon and guide him through the process.

However, it might not be as promising as I am assuming and explaining, because for sure, medical treatments are really risky. Also, these professionals need total focus to achieve their goals, and AR might hinder their focus. Somehow, we can say that it’s a good option to have AR assist us through medical treatments, but only time can be assessing whether it will be a good option or not.

Moreover, if we study around the topic, we can see that Augmented Reality has been in use for Medical Reasons. For an instance, it is used to practice surgeries beforehand, quite a plus point for a surgeon. Making waves across the globe Augmented Reality has made its footprints in medical advancements. We can also study that by conducting a minimally invasive procedure or locating a tumour in the liver, AR healthcare apps can help save lives and treat patients seamlessly.

Digital visuals of organs with Augmented Reality

AR has eradicated the cutting and tearing phase of locating tumours. Without allowing radiation, it can digitally represent the internal on the existing environment. The capacity to enhance the environment with digital visuals is contributing to turning medical fields up-to-date.

AR has been working in every field, be it sports or mechanical field. Although in the medical field it hasn't been fully adapted. It would take several years till it provides 100% benefits on this ground. Whatever AR is doing now is enough to ensure its assistance and support in future by providing 3D digital visuals, study about anatomy and promoting healthy drugs.

This technology is helping at this hour. There are chances of AR offering its helping hand to healthcare professionals in future too. Its values are unleashing and professionals are making hay while the sun is shining.
