Brilliantly written and directed, filled with powerhouse performances and quotable quotes, Andor Season 2 is truly a gem among the slate of Star Wars TV series on Disney+.

A prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)—widely regarded as the best Star Wars film in the Disney era—Andor follows the story of thief-turned-spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna reprising his Rogue One role) when a secret rebel alliance is being formed to defy the treacherous Galactic Empire.

Created by Tony Gilroy, the series is set five years before the events depicted in Rogue One and Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)

There is so much to love about Andor Season 2: from political intrigue, well-developed character arcs (including a few romantic pairings,) brutal fighting scenes and daring escapes, to massive sets, stunning locations and gobsmackingly beautiful costumes (especially Mon Mothma’s Senatorial wardrobe) and standout acting by veterans and newbies alike.

Snappy, snarky and brilliantly-written layered dialogue is also a standout in Andor Season 2, thanks to writers Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon and Tom Bissell.

So much so that the sci-fi series picked up five gongs (out of 14 nominations) at the 2025 Emmys, winning for Outstanding Costume, Production Design, Visual Effects, Picture Editing, and Best Writing for a Drama (Dan Gilroy).

In no order of merit, here are the 15 best quotes from Andor Season 2:

1.“The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss… The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest…”

—Senator Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) to the Imperial Senate, before declaring Emperor Palpatine as the monster in S2E9, “Welcome To The Rebellion.” O'Reilly's finest moment with words that are also very relevant in our real world today. (For Mon's off-screen second speech, check out Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Episode 18, "Secret Cargo.")

2. "Welcome to the Rebellion."

—Cassian Andor to Mon Mothma, after the Senator—realizing her speech has made her a person of interest who has to go on the run— expresses her fear of not being able to do so in S2E9.

3. “How nice for you.”

—Rebellion architect Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) to Mon Mothma, when the Senator remarks she didn’t understand what he meant that she needed to be protected from banker and childhood friend Tay Kolma (Ben Miles) in S2E3, “Harvest.”

4. “We should’ve killed Krennic while we were up there.”

—Luthen to fellow spy/confidente Kleya Marki (Elizabeth Dulau,) as the pair leaves Davo Sculdun’s (Richard Dillane) party where Imperial Military Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) was also a guest in S2E6, “What A Festive Evening.”

5. “At the moment, only two pieces of questionable provenance in the gallery.”

—Luthen to Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) Supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough,) when the latter asks if all the antiques in the former’s Coruscant store are real in S2E10, “Make It Stop.”

6. “There’s a whole galaxy out there waiting to disgust you.”

—Luthen to Dedra again, after the latter exposes him and says everything he stands for disgusts her in S2E10.

7. “This game ends now. You want Syril in your life, you will think before you speak. I’ll make sure he visits twice a month. I’ll make sure he calls you. I will guarantee a level of engagement, but it will be inversely proportional to the volume of anxiety you generate in our lives.”

—Dedra to Eedy Karn (Kathryn Hunter,) during dinner with the mother of Imperial civil servant Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) at the odd couple’s Coruscant love nest in S2E3.

8. “I’m not done. You can spare me the Uncle Harlow testimonials. I’ve had a look at his ISB criminal files and that is not a story you want to be advertising.”

—Dedra to Eedy again, after the latter quips “What a mouthful…” to the former’s fore-mentioned demands in S2E3.

9. “If you are not a rebel spy, you missed your calling!”

—Krennic to Dedra, when he reveals it was the latter’s carelessness that led ISB rebel mole Lonni Jung (Robert Emms) to gain access to her Death Star-related files in S2E11, “Who Else Knows?”

10. “Who are you?!”

—Cassian to Syril, momentarily stunning the latter who learns that the rebel he has doggedly pursued for years didn't even know who he is, before being shot to death by resistance leader Carro Rylanz (Richard Sammel) during the Ghorman Massacre in S2E8, “Who Are You?”

11. “Revolution is not for the sane. Look at us. Unloved. Hunted. Cannon fodder.”

—Extremist freedom fighter Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) to Wilmon Paak (Muhannad Ben Amor), explaining to the Ferrix native of why he does what he does for freedom in S2E5, “I Have Friends Everywhere.” Whitaker utterly embodies the character of Saw.

12. “Rebellions are built on hope.”

—Hotel concierge Thela (Stefan Crepon) to Cassian, when the latter hopes that things will work out for the Ghorman native prior to the Ghorman Massacre in S2E8. The well-known quote was first uttered by Cassian and repeated famously by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) in Rogue One.

13. “No.”

—K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) to an Imperial soldier when the latter asks, “Are you with us?” and whom the reprogrammed ex-Imperial enforcer droid proceeds to throw over a balcony after replying in S2E11.

14. “Calibrate your enthusiasm.”

—ISB Major Lio Partagaz (a brilliant Anton Lesser) to ISB Officer Heert (Jacob James Beswick), after the latter reacts too enthusiastically upon being assigned to oversee an interrogational torture program in S2E6.

15. “May I have a moment to collect my thoughts?”

—Partagaz to ISB Supervisor Lagret (Michael Jenn,) when the latter arrives to take him to a disciplinary meeting only to take his own life thereafter knowing full well he would be severely punished in the season finale S2E12, "Jedha, Kyber, Erso."

Special Mention: When Silence Speaks Volumes

No Words Necessary: Bearing a heavy heart for marrying off her daughter to a mobster’s family and causing a hit to be made on her childhood friend in order to fund the Rebellion, a visibly-depressed Mon Mothma drowns her sorrows by drinking and dancing away at the wedding rave (set to a pulsating remixed version of galaxy hit, "Niamos!") in S2E3.

An amazingly impactful sequence thanks to O’Reilly’s masterful performance, which also led Disney+ to release a rocking 60-minute Dancing Mon Mothma video.

Andor Season 1 and 2 are streaming exclusively on Disney+.
