Akhenaten

One of the Pharaohs Ancient Egypt tried to erase from history, if not for his descendant Tut the world renown found pharaoh fully intact. But that’s another topic altogether. Back to Akhenaten, he ruled from 1351-1334BC, before the fifth year of his reign he was known as Amenhotep IV. He was the tenth ruler of the Eighteenth Dynasty. His predecessor Amenhotep III, his successor Smenkhkare. He was unlike any other Pharaoh, especially in his depiction. Other pharaoh’s depicted themselves very masculine with a muscle build body. But Akhenaten had himself depicted in statues , carvings, and paintings as he was a tall long face, elongated skull, feminine bottle shape body with wide thick hips as well as a pot belly and huge eyes. He looked like a hybrid of human and something else. Or maybe descendant of Atlantean.

During Akhenaten rule he made drastic changes to ancient Egypt’s pantheon of gods. Making a new religion and deity of one God the Sun or Aten as they called back then. Thus Atenism, worship centered on Aten was born. Making all stop worship of the old gods and worship one God the Sun God (Aten), which he claimed his godliness by saying he was the child of this deity. He even made a temple for Aten. The people of Ancient Egypt did not like this but could not go against their pharaoh.

After Akhenaten death, the people of ancient Egypt returned to their traditional polytheistic religion. Also they tried to hide the rule of Akhenaten, by destroying many statues of him and many paintings/carvings. Trying to hide his history. Why did they do this? What was Akhenaten? Why did he portray himself the way he did? These are all questions many have been asking and researching since his discovery as being one of the ancient pharaohs. Akhenaten was like no other pharaoh as we know of so far. He is still being studied the remnants of his history and the archeological finds which depict him and speak of him. But as stated a lot was destroyed because of his changing of the religion during his reign.

There is a lot more to speak of when it comes to Akhenaten. Such as his siblings and children. But I ask all who are interested in further knowledge to seek and research on your own this pharaoh and the mystery he left behind. After his reign. Such as what and who was Aten, was it really the Sun, or does it have to do with ancient astronaut theory. Did a being come to Akhenaten and tell him stop the worship of many gods and worship one? There is still a lot to be explored on Akhenaten, and a lot to be discovered and learned still. Was this a hybrid of alien and human?
