In the first two decades of China's reform, the goal was very materialistic. A well-off life, food and clothing, quadrupling, and solving the problems between people and things were the needs of survival. And every individual, also put happiness on the materialized future body.

These materialized goals have been realized one after another, but Chinese people have gradually found that happiness does not come with the promise of material things. The whole crowd is full of complaints, such as complaints of high officials, low status, poor people and rich people. People seem to be more anxious and feel insecure for unknown reasons, like infectious diseases and cross-infection. Above uneasiness, afraid of trouble below; Below also uneasy, afraid that above always make some big things, regardless of the feelings of the small people; The rich are afraid that one day their wealth will no longer count. The poor are also anxious. Will their situation and that of their children change? It is in the midst of complaining, anxiety and restlessness that happiness, at last, becomes a big issue.

At this time, the goal of a harmonious society was put forward. In fact, it is to solve the problems between people and try to bring people closer to happiness. But with that effort comes an even bigger challenge.

In a nation of 1.3 billion people, how do we solve our problems with our hearts? What are the core values in our population? Where is the spiritual home? What are our beliefs?

Do we all believe in RMB?

Are our pain and anxiety, social chaos and utility all related to this?

Does it have something to do with the fact that we seem to have everything but happiness?

Happiness, has become the biggest problem at the same time, also become the most important goal in the future.

But where is the happiness?

Some say that of the 1.3 billion Chinese, more than 100 million people have adopted various religions as their own, such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Christianity or Islam, and more than 100 million people say they believe in communism, and then nothing. Should we be worried?

But the Chinese have never lacked faith. Culture or no culture, our faith has always been hidden in the mix of Chinese culture, in the stories told to us by our grandparents, in Tang and Song poetry, and in People's Daily behavior and etiquette. Therefore, the Chinese people used to Revere nature, pursue the unity of nature and man, respect education and know when enough is enough. As the leader becomes more powerful and has more words to agree with the leader, there are fewer occasions when he or she can slap the table for the right thing to do.

In fact, do subordinates really fear power?

Maybe not, if you look closely. Perhaps subordinates have already become more intelligent and utilitarian, and if such deference can benefit or at least avoid harm, why not do it?

But the question is, who gave the subordinates that hint?

Every generation of youth is not easy, but the youth of the present era has the naked eye to see the difficulties. The Times make it necessary for young people to succeed, and success is equal to the house, the car and the job. Youth should be romantic, not so utilitarian and realistic, but today's young people dare not and can not. Housing prices are no longer an economic problem, but a social problem and a political problem.
