Coolidge Effect

Sexual withdrawal is a physiological norm, your pleasure is not from pleasure

The "sexual withdrawal period"

In the legend, after God created all things, to help different species to reproduce, he created a mechanism called "sexual inactivity".

What does it mean? It is very understandable, that is, when the sexes have sex with each other, in the next period, even if the two sides are still at a very intimate distance, but will not have sex again. This period varies from species to species, some species are several days, and some are a few hours.

But if there is another person of the opposite sex, then no matter how tired the species is, it is likely to have sex again.

Among animals, this phenomenon is called the "Coolidge effect", many biologists believe that this phenomenon is a great benefit to biological continuity.

Of course, these effects and phenomena are often unknown to the species itself. Today, as society develops and people learn more about themselves and other species, humans are beginning to spend more and more of their energy on understanding and mastering others.

Environment and Desire

Knowledge of people and human nature often varies according to the size of the place. For example, there are many "first-tier cities" where people are now concentrated.

This is because people have to learn to adapt to these different rules in an environment where people and things are more complex and difficult to master. Previously, in a simple environment, people often only needed to follow one rule or know one kind of knowledge, but as the environment changes, people naturally have to adapt to the environment.

People's physical characteristics will also be based on their living environment and reflect different characteristics.

For example, people living near the equator, because the climate is hot, there often have a waxy face, thick eyebrows, and thin features; while people living in high latitudes are higher noses, broad foreheads, and taller.

Individuals in life also have different desires depending on the environment around them.

Addiction, hallucination, and dopamine production

Dopamine is a substance that is produced by the human brain and is used by the brain to motivate the body.

When people make certain decisions, they need something to motivate them to act, and dopamine is one such substance. Normally, it is not stimulated.

Once dopamine is triggered, the individual will be stimulated, for example, when people smell the smell of food, the body will appear a feeling called "hunger", and saliva, the desire to "eat". After the close contact between the two sexes, each other will appear a sexual impulse, after which the desire to have intercourse.

It is in this process that the species is perpetuated.

The degree of dopamine secretion is also proportional to the degree of dependence on this behavior, in short, the more pronounced the stimulus, the more addicted people become to it.

This is what we understand in a rational state, but in many cases, people do not feel this. For example, when having sex, people often only experience the pleasure of intimate contact and do not think carefully about why.

Scientists have collected images of the human brain during orgasm and compared them with the images in the minds of individuals who use heroin, and found a high degree of similarity between the two.

So we can learn that many things that can make people "addicted" or "hallucinogenic" can bring pleasure and the process is similar. For example, some people have "smoking", and "alcohol addiction" the case.

Of course, repeatedly doing similar things, the pleasure that can be experienced is decreasing, and only after a period of "cooling time", the pleasure will be "reset". The so-called "Coolidge effect" is a manifestation of this phenomenon in sexual relations.

So for mammals, what happens to make them just after a one-time relationship, and then a strong desire for sex again? For example, as mentioned before, this can be achieved by adding some novel elements or changing partners.

The dopamine level in the body is also a certain "total", too much in a short period, the individual will feel very tired, only to be able to recover through a period of rest.

Understanding the link between dopamine and pleasure, we can consciously manage and adjust our bodies and emotions in these areas.
