My friend Roscoe (a lively heterosexual) created a comic, a graphic novel. The story talks about sex, but more importantly about Here and Now Forever, as a way of life. And some simple facts about the way most of us live, every single day, in hundreds of cities in the United States of America.

When people become obsessed with anything, they get a bit cramped inside, and begin to drift from reality, and substitute a fictional version of reality for our actual reality. Often, this is to help them cope with whatever situations are distressing them. We might simply calm down, and smoke some weed (or relax as if smoking some weed)-- well, that becomes difficult, and often not impossible. Some people are obsessed with imaginary workplaces.

An image like the one above, might make the NSFW authorities gasp! The reality is: this image harms no one in any way, and never could harm anyone. NSFW assumes someone will be upset about something, and make a fuss, and call a lawyer. And corporations do not want Human Resource lawsuits piling up. That is the only reason we have NSFW: to keep viewers out of trouble with eavesdropping bosses or eavesdropping co-workers. Employees, in any environment, who are immature and foolish enough to willfully put porn in front of co-workers, without any regard for other people's feelings-- that is a different topic. NSFW censorship does not solve that problem, the problem of people being disrespectful toward each other. NSFW attempts to censor what appears on any corporate desktop, laptop or cell phone. That attempt is a failure by any measurement. Truly a waste of time. If we could teach people to act like grown-ups and be polite to each other, that would solve the problem of sexual images in public places. In fact, that is the only solution to that problem.

So it is really about LAWYERS. What the lawyers are telling the owners and managers of corporations about potential lawsuits. A bizarre attempt to create warm, cozy, emotionally sensitive work environments. As if work environments can ever be warm, cozy and emotionally sensitive. Work is where millions of people go to be economic slaves for a large chunk of their lives, to get the money they need, to do what they need to do, or want to do. There is never anything warm, cozy or emotionally sensitive about economic slavery. That is the social and economic system in which we live. Some places are better than others, but it is a fantasy to call a snarling wolf, a cheery rainbow unicorn, and pretend we can all be warm cozy friends with the people who are trapped with us at work.

The bottom line is: Anything which disrupts the process of making money in a work environment, needs to be removed from that environment. In short, workers need to watch porn on their own time, and not while they are being paid to make money for somebody, or for some corporation. If workers are not mature enough to keep the porn private, that is on them... not on the people who think up entertainment, or make images, or make movies. I have no reason to censor myself, censor my ideas or my creative actions-- just so corporate lawyers have nothing to whine about. It is the corporate environment itself which needs to change. Ideally, work environments should change to allow workers the privacy they need to get their jobs done AND watch porn if they want to, or need to as a distraction from their work. Roscoe, and millions of other boys are not going to stop enjoying their penises, just because they are trapped in a slave environment, the NSFW environment required for most people to make a living. The quick joy and relief of sexual distraction is not going to disappear, just because boys are trapped in stressful places and need a few moments of visual pleasure for themselves.
There is something sacred about visual pleasure, our need for privacy and our relentless desire and joy from sexual stimulation.
