WINNING V GAINING
It's the final challenge. The win is in the participation. The gain is yet to present itself.

Somewhere along the blurred lines of creating a masterpiece which nets you a winning celebratory purse, and finding the heartfelt words to happily convey them, I seem to flounder. Is it the nagging little bugger on your left shoulder, contradicting the voice of reason sitting on your right shoulder.
I am traversing this cavernous maze built solely of words, spelunking it's width, depth, length and height in order to overcome my dilemma.
What constitutes a win.
Is it attempting to win purely from your perspective or point of view.
Or:
Is it vociferating, against your intrinsic nature, what others want to hear.
I found a cool bench under the isolated pear tree at the far end of the orchard and sat down to ponder and annotate the previous works of my attempts at storytelling.
I found that I was comfortable with some aspects of my stories, while others forayed into such discomfort, they made me cringe.
Realization that the cringe worthy ones were my most honest was not really a surprise. They were the hardest to pencil.
My mood at a particular time dictated what my mind wanted to convey. This realization does not bode well with what the popular opinion poll constitutes an overall win to be in the genre of success.
OH! Woe is me.
It is then that I realize that to speak from one's heart, win or lose, might just be the antidote to win.
I might not win from your timeline, but I can win from within mine, whether I am granted approval or not. For is not speaking from one's honest perspective the epitome of a win.
There may come a point when what you want to hear and what I have to say collide in a magnificent way and all becomes well.
A true mutual win.
This pear tree has taken me on a worldwide journey. We traversed the astral planes and had psychic connections to multiverses. We revisited our serpentine beginnings seeking clarity.
We delved into feminine re-awakenings and forward thinking. We came to the end of the world, conquered and slew the beast and started anew.
We said goodbye to a mother and a father gone to rest, and we commiserated with our essential workers.
And all that from only a tiny view betwixt the limbs and branches of the pear tree.
We visited a barn, survived a frozen pond and challenged a raging bull.
The beautiful marigold flowers delighted us with their many variegated and splendid blooms.
We swam the ocean blue with sharks and survived death by chocolate.
Within a neatly wrapped brown paper box we encountered a mysterious green light.
What a great summer adventure. It was a blast. I had such great fun.
The golden summer is fast coming to an end. It was a really hot one this year of 2021, the pandemic waned for a bit. A brief respite from the feeling of suffocation felt from being locked away for safety and actual life was happily welcomed.
People breathed, sighed and exhaled for a breathtaking moment. But the winds of change ruffled their menacing feathers and sent us scurrying back into the shadows.
We take refuge in our stories and our hobbies. There is no time to worry and fret. Fill the seemingly unfriendly moments with words and thoughts and realize how the time passes so much easier, with peace and serenity.
So, goodbye summer, we welcome the gift of warm days to come before we say hello to autumn.
Thank you for the sunshine and the words and the happy adventures.
