Gia's raw earth body is seared by scorching heat. Her bare shoulders rise in the swelter, like the peaks of mountains across desert. Particles of sand glimmer across her being, seeking refuge from the furnace beneath her feet.

It is a heat that has increased rapidly over the past few days, overwhelming Gia's natural earth state. Cracks of dehydration shoot across her torso, arms and legs, rendering her fatigued. Her earth is using all its energy, overheating itself in order to survive the dark fate that looms before her.

Very soon, Gia's world will change completely. A future is yet to be, revealing itself through the thicket of dark grey that has begun to cast its metal like grip across the atmosphere.

Gia swallows nothing, her mouth dry with thirst. Her half naked body feels cold, even under the sweltering sun. Her bare torso pulses with the absence of Myr, whose kisses fell like rain across her dry, sandy shore. His tide had merged with her earth, quenching her deeply aroused desire. The very thought of his tingling waves sends an electric pulse through her loins.

Throwing her head back, Gia stares up at the dark grey, daring herself to face the change. A dark new world reveals the peaks and troughs of a sharp flightscape. Two striking, blue-black feathers flutter separately against the grey, each on their own independent journeys.

Gia stares down at the white feather tied around her earthy neck. It glistens under the gaze of the remaining moonlight. It was a gift that rose and fell across Myr's waves, from deep within the sea that he embodied. It was a lasting treasure, a reminder of their natural world. The feather is aglow in the dusk, surrounded by an aura of red light, as it absorbs the sensation of her beating heart. Gia knows in these special moments, that no matter how rapidly the world changes, she will still guard her natural spirit and the world that she inhabits with all her might.

Gia's necklace can transform, gifting her with white wings. She had once soared with those wings, high above the fast disappearing earth, feeling the thrill of the air as it kissed her being. It was a freedom that she had relished, to be able to abandon the darkly dramatic changes of her homeland, even for a short while.

Gia landed at the shores of Myr's sea, pecking away for morsels of baby fish. Whitebait was her favourite, adorning her with a rhythmic energy as she skimmed her light, bird-like body across the choppy water. Myr caught her in one of his cresting waves, warming her in his sun heated waters. She felt safe and secure in his embrace, away from the deterioration back home.

Staring up at the dark grey once more, Gia shakes with fear. The dark grey is flexing and moulding, taking the shape of tall, metallic poles, that soar high into the sky. Across each pole, is a line of sizzling wire, which sparks dangerously. Gia's heart freezes as she watches one of the floating blue-grey feathers get caught in the wire.

The feather sparks alight, burnt to the core by the onset fire. Gia cannot take her eyes off the feather, shaking with dread as it spins in a crazed circle around the wire, transforming into a metallic carriage-like structure.

The carriage rattles into action, sparking with live fire. It speeds across the wire, blurring out of sight.

Gia's dry eyes crack with strain. No tears fall, yet she feels a deep sadness within. The fate of nature is clear in the dark future. She must hold true to her remaining earth, even as the future's world dominates.

The air around Gia cools, as she sits determinedly for many hours. It makes her earth shiver, sending a ripple through her being. As the new day arrives, there is only a tiny glimpse of sunlight, as the future world has cast its dark grey shadow over daylight.

Myr returns, splashing his ferocious waves of anger against her being. Gia relaxes, letting him soothe and settle into a pool in her earth. Alone, the lovers stare up at the dark grey future, sans the beauty of natural life or feather. It flashes above them with a dangerous, fiery energy as its transport fleets by.

Scarce tears fall from Gia's eyes, dripping into Myr's waters. Concerned, he flows into her arms, merging part of himself with her earth, as he holds her close. The power of their embrace sets their landscape shaking, as it begins to expand beneath them, fighting for its life against the dark grey.

Rocks, dirt and grass shoot forth, forming land with a spiritual beauty that warms Gia's heart. She closes her eyes, allowing her body to finally succumb to its fate. Lightly she rises, her body pooling with Myr's comforting, warm waters. Her necklace transforms into white wings once more, which sprout and span across her back.

Gia's heart sings with her homeland, a place that will never leave her, no matter how much change the future brings. Determinedly, she rises higher, facing the fiery, dark grey future. It is a world that she knows has never felt pure love, like her love for Myr.

Swirling in her earth, Myr coaxes her to continue, to present their precious unity, their light of love to the darkness.

Inhaling a sharp breath, Gia floats into the dark grey, her heart beating with love. The noise of metal overwhelms and deafens her. She wills herself to block out the sound and to land in the centre of its madness. She begins to plant her earth firmly into its dark, floating floor.

As Gia settles, her spirit projects a natural calmness that clashes with the craze. The carriages slow right down, screeching to a halt. The dark grey tears away its sky, exposing the sunlight. Unprepared for the heat of rays, the metallic transport catches fire.

Still Gia settles calmly, her natural earth lodged firmly into the dark ground. Beneath her, the ground begins to lower, as the fire rages, detaching itself from the last remnant of its bleak future, which dissipates into non existence.

The dark ground lowers still, taking Gia and Myra with it, until it is level with her natural land. There it settles, coughing up a large chunk of metal, which rolls across the expanse of earth's beauty. It is a future that the dark ground has expelled, choosing to accept nature as its state.

As the months and years pass, the large metal chunk remains on the natural land, accompanying Gia and Myr's loving, stable unity. The earth and its waters continue to flourish, sprouting new lives that roam freely across its breadth.

Each day, the metal gleams in the sunlight, a lasting reminder of a future that Gia and Myr once outwitted with their love.

In this allegorical and beautiful work, love and resilience are exalted in a changing world where we need unity. Indeed, we need unity and mutual support.
