Lina thought that she had seen everything that the universe could throw at her this caused her to feel prepared for anything. From a depression expanding monster that only wanted for everyone to see reason to a love sick raging inferno made her cool on the outside while coming up with a plan that could help her or her team to accomplish their task at hand. But the one thing she never saw coming was for when her sister that she had been taking care off since she was twenty and watched her grow up fall deathly ill. Their parents were in the same profession as Lina which was Intergalactic Protection and Mediator Police Squad or for short IPMPS which was nothing special often refereeing themselves as the Intergalactic Police but there was never a dull moment. Their parents had died on a mission to the green sun solar system. There had been a lot of galactic fights breaking out over there back then. The Triragons and the eldrittens were sabotaging each other again.
Lina parents had been the best tension diffusers and most diplomatics of the entire Intergalactic force in a very long time. But what was never confirmed all they knew for sure was that someone or something had destroyed their ship once they had just barely entered the green sun solar system their spaceship getting bathed in a green light. The message HQ had gotten was extremely garbled and staticy making it hard to understand a single syllable. At the time Lina was halfway through the four year training school to join her parents as a Intergalactic Police officer. While her little sister who was only four years old was with a babysitter. When they found out that they were orphaned Lina sobbed entire weekend the babysitter stayed that weekend to help them get through the weekend. Lina was able to get back on her feet and keep her little sister in her custody. That was twelve years ago now in present time Lina was climbing the ladder in the IPMPS while her little sister Blair contracted a illness that was deadly. The illness was called Solarflare flu. It was a new evolved kind of the flu that humans had been fighting for years to find a cure.
But when all the galaxies created an alliance or more like a commutation and transportation system the flu evolved into so many kinds. Almost all of them had a vaccination or a cure but the SolarFlare flu was the newest one and they couldn't figure out how it spread or how to slow it down. The survival rates were all over the place. Lina had just come from the sweetly twisted solar system to find her little sister who was only sixteen in the hospital. The doctors weren't very optimistic about Blair survival. Knowing this Lina went to her sister side gripping her hand.
"Hey little alien anything I can get you?" Lina asked holding back the tears and the heartbreak in her voice the best that she could. BLair who was thin, pale and weak looked at her sister who was her role model with a tired smile.
"All I need is for you to be by my side Alien monitor." Blair answered before she started to cough. Lina cried at this not use to seeing her little sister like this. Usually she had a deep golden tan, she would be skinny but would have a lot of muscle to compensate for the lack of fat with her bouncing off the walls full of energy. She felt Blair's fragile then hand touch her cheeks wiping a tear away. "Don't start crying Lina or I'm going to start crying." Blair said her voice scratchy from the coughing fit she just had. The were unshed tears in Blair eyes as she looked Lina in the eyes.
"But I can't stop but wonder why you? Your future is extremely bright." Lina asked choking back a sob. He eyes had so many tears that her vision was slightly blurry. She had Blair small fragile hand in a death grib not wanting for her little sister to go.
"Because this was meant to happen. Our family has always been plagued with misfortunes and hardships. Even though I would have gone to do amazing things I wouldn't be able to top what you have accomplished." Blair said her voice getting weaker. Blair stared at her older sister with love and admiration in her eyes but there was a sliver of fear.
"What are you talking about Blair you are at the top of your class with your grades, beautiful and planning to go to college a year early. I fanything you have done more than me and your not even an adult yet." Lina said said looking at her sister feeling her heart break as she see her little sister light in her eyes slowly dim. Blair gave a weak laugh looking at her sister,
"No I haven't. You took me in when you were only twenty and going through the school to become an Intergalactic officer like our parents. You even worked a second job for a while to keep us afloat along with giving me a happy childhood. You stayed up late a night to study and work on anything you didn't get down during the day. You have always put me and the galaxy before yourself. Even when you were dating before you met Matthew you made it clear about your intentions and that you had me. While making sure I knew who our parents were and what they looked like. I never felt like I was missing mom and dad you stepped up into both roles. While also climbing the ladder at your work to get to the position you're in now." Blair said before breaking out into another coughing fit. This time coughing up blood Lina let go of her sister hand but got up and pulled Blair into a hug not caring if blood got on her uniform. All she cared about at that moment was her sister. Not long after Blair calmed down and hugged her sister back.
"Lina our parents died in the green sun solar system right?" BLair asked staring ahead of her her eyes slowly fogging over and her eyesight becoming hazy. Sinnfling Lina nodded silently trying to hold back the tears. Blair smiled sadly at that becoming confirmed.
"Yeah their ship was covered in a green light when it exploded. They most likely only saw green light when they died even realizing that they wouldn't come home." Lina finally said getting control of her voice again. Silent tears ran down Blair's cheeks.
"Lina all I see is a blinding green light. I see two small silhouette's as well I think its mom and dad." Blair choked out knowing that her time was almost up. Lina held onto her little sister even tighter. her eyes squeezed shut shaking her head slowly.
"No. Don't go little alien I can't lose you too." Lina sobbed out not able to hold the tears and her emotions back. Blair held onto her sister tightly breathing Lina perfume in deeply. Her tears making a wet spot on Lina uniform shirt.
"That's not up to you or me alien monitor it's my time to go. I see the green light with mom and dad. I'll get to know them like you did. I won't actually be leaving you just not be with you physically. I will be with you spiritually..." Blair trailed off her body going limp and her eyes closing for the last time. Lina cried into her sisters hair and when she buried Blair next to her parents. Lina cried almost every night until like her sister and parents saw them surrounded by the green light that Blair saw before she died. Leaving behind five children, ten grandchildren. WHen she saw the green light though she saw her husband, the child that she had a miscarriage with, sister, and her parents.
