Who could she possibly be?
I first saw her by the village green

Early evening would often find me sitting by the village green after a walk. It was here that I first saw her. I thought she looked familiar but couldn’t be sure. Once, I went to speak to her, but she was gone before I got close enough.
Today, at sunset, I find her standing beside me, the village deserted.
"You still can't make out who I am, can you?" she asks.
"Well, no, but... Oh..."
"What? Were you expecting an evil-looking, becloaked figure with a death's head, carrying a huge scythe?" Come... come with me now. Your time is up."

This is a shocking and stirring little story. Good job.
Oh, wow, I thought it might be an old friend you didn’t recognize. (Been there, you know). But I guess not quite. I loved the twist!
Oh wow, that was a shocking twist! Loved it!
I love how this builds atmosphere so quickly with such a chilling twist!
Chilling! I especially like how you revealed her more "sinister" clothing at the conclusion. Nicely penned! 💜
So impressed you can do much with so few words.
Very clever! Nicely done Raymond! :)
This was surprisingly very good, Ray. Great job, you had me fooled.

Death isn't ever what we expect it to be, is it? You had me fooled... :)
