My mother used to tell me rainbows snowed, but I’ve never seen a rainbow actually explode. Yet, she said it happens and has witnessed it; so, that’s all I need to know.
Conditions must be perfect and extremely cold. Every time I saw a rainbow on an extremely cold winter day, I’d ask, “Mom, will that rainbow snow?”
“If you’re lucky, you’ll see that beauty explode.”
“Mom... if it explodes, will the snow be rainbow colored?”
“Yes, the snow will be rainbow colored and a sight to behold! You'll never forget it even when you grow old.”
Many rainbows have come and gone since I was a little girl, but not a single one ever snowed. Each one I see, I wish to witness the rainbow-colored snow; but, a rainbow snow is a rare sight because I’ve never seen one yet.
At last, a vivid rainbow with breathtaking spectrum fully glowed. The below-zero temperature gave me hope for sights foretold. I stared intently at the sight and was mesmerized as I watched it suddenly explode. Fluffy, rainbow-colored snow fell to the bestowed Earth.
On the fifth anniversary of my Mother's death, I will never forget the sight of rainbow-colored snow falling down to the ground. I cried at the reaffirmation that she never lied to me. Seeing a once-in-a-lifetime sight, I whispered to the sky. "Thank you, Mom. Did you see it too?" I only wished my Mom could have been there watching with me in the amazed, cheering crowd.
