When Life Breaks You: Find Strength In The Storm

By Muhammad Waseem Published about a year ago 3 min read

She cried silently in her room, it's midnight already, but her bleeding heart won't let her sleep.

She tried watching funny reels and scrolling through TikTok videos, but the shadow of sadness lingered. She even switched off her phone and shut her eyes as memories of what happened earlier clouded her head.

The only man she ever loved deeply called off the wedding, which was supposed to be in two days. She left home hastily when he called her, requesting to meet at Soothing Garden in Agusa. His countenance was cold and indifferent; She became worried when he stood silently for 10 minutes. "What's going on?" She asked, terrified by his silence.

Ola finally spoke: "We can't proceed with the wedding plans. You deserve better." Her body shivered as she asked, "What do you mean I deserve better?" with teary eyes. "I'm sorry things have to end this way," he said.

"These past few days of deep thoughts and self-examination have made me realize certain things."

stream of tears flowed from her eyes as she watched the man she gave her all to, the man who made her break her promise to God about staying sexually pure until the wedding night.

The man she gave her virginity so he will stay with her after his countless sexual desires for her..

Ola's facial expression was emotionless as he avoided her gaze; I'm in love with Tolu," he said. "She was just supposed to be my best friend, but my love for her is beyond that."

She knelt down before him ;"Please don't put me and my family to shame. I won't be able to suffer this humiliation."She said

He replied, "I will call off the wedding when I get home," and left without concern for her..

An alarm jolted her out of thoughts. It was time for her midnight prayer...She felt weak and motionless, unable to stand. She felt the weight of the world on her head; She gave him five good years of her life, and it ended in tears... All she thought of doing was to rip off everything that makes her feel alive...

Suddenly, She turned her phone on and began deleting every positive content she created... Even her Facebook page titled "Hope for the Broken" was not left out, as she deleted several inspiring contents...

She would've deleted the page permanently if not that she had a low battery, and her phone went off..

Take your life, suicide is the best option when cut at the edge; this negativity voice kept saying this words in her head...

The thought of drowning herself in a beach crossed her mind... She couldn't push through with the stinging pain so you fixed your mind on it...

She stepped out, acting like all was well, ...Her neighbor, Obinna, told her how he came across the Facebook page she created... One of the contents she wrote, titled "Come Alive Again," helped him scale through his tough moments...

You were born for a time like this," He finally said and smiled... Her feet suddenly grew weak as she mustered the courage to go back inside...

Her feeble hands opened the journal on the plastic table and she felt as though God was speaking through it....

She summoned the strength to voice out the heart cry her heart ;Help me to rise Yahweh...plssssssss ,heal me..

Despite life's toughness and shortcomings, don't seek death. Suicide shouldn't be an option. It's never too late to find your path again; it's never too late until God says it is. Treat yourself well, even when life seems unfair.
