When Emma Falls in Love
a cute little love story inspired by the Taylor Swift song

She couldn't help but smile any time she looked at him. He was just some stranger sitting across from her at the local bookshop, but somehow... she had been intrigued by him. His sparkling blue eyes. The little smile he expressed every time they made eye contact. She couldn't stop herself from biting her lip every single time the contact occurred, as her cheeks would flush with a burning sensation.
She glanced back across the room, hoping for another peek, only to notice his seat had been empty now. She slowly just put her nose back in the book she had been reading.
"It was fun while it lasted," She thought to herself, only to be interrupted by another voice.
"Excuse me?" The voice asked.
She looked up, recognizing the same sparkling blue eyes she had been eyeballing all afternoon. Her mouth opened to say something, but she couldn't find the proper words to say.
"Been staring at me all this time and you can't figure out a way to speak to me?" He let out a soft chuckle.
"I-I'm so sorry." Her cheeks flushed.
"It's a bit creepy... staring at a random stranger the way you were."
Her hand covered her face, hiding the light blush forming on her cheeks, "I am so, very sor-"
"I never said that I hated it." He smiled at her. It was that same smile he had expressed every time he would catch her looking over at him.
"You didn't?" She hid her soft giggle with her hand.
"What is a beautiful girl like you doing, sitting in the middle of a bookshop, on a afternoon like today?" He asked her.
"I just felt like reading," She held up the book she had been holding in her lap. "Some days I just don't feel like paying for the book," Her finger quickly went up to her lips, "Don't tell the employees."
He let out a short little gasp, following it with a small laugh, "Are you telling me that you take advantage of the chairs they placed inside this bookshop... you are quite the sneak, miss-?"
"Emma," She smiled once more, "and they shouldn't set up a sitting arrangement inside if they didn't want people to sit and read their books."
"Most people typically still buy the books they browsed through as they sat." He held up a plastic bag, "Example A."
"Boo." She smirked, "You just fell right into their hands."
"Well, I'm sorry Emma," He said to her, "Sometimes I'd much rather take the book home to read while in the comfort of my own bed. Although, I did quite enjoy the view I had today."
Emma blushed once more, "Oh, you did?"
"I did." He smirked, "How far along did you get on that book, anyway?"
She focused back on the book, revealing to him that she was already almost finished, "As you can tell, I've been here for quite some time now." She giggled once more.
"Well," He smiled, "I guess I don't have to wait too long until I'm able to invite you to spend the rest of the day with me."
"Good one." She chuckled lightly, "You just think of that one?"
"Sorry. I just didn't want to miss out on the opportunity... meeting a beautiful girl doesn't just happen to anyone."
"I honestly don't know how long I'll be." She told him, "I can sometimes take a while when I come here."
"Oh, that's fine," He sat down on the floor next to her feet, "I have no issue with waiting. I'm a patient guy." He couldn't help but smile at her as she continued with her book once more.
She couldn't help but stare at him as he laid next to her in the bed they once shared. Only just six months since they met in that small little bookshop, most would say she was moving way too fast.
'He was just a stranger to you six months ago, Emma.' Her friends would all say to her.
'How could you even think of moving in with a complete stranger?' Her family would all say.
But he wasn't a stranger. Or, he didn't feel as if he was a stranger. He was her light. The one to guide her to the end of the rainbow. He was the reason she woke up in the morning. He was the one she wanted to wake up to every day. He was hers.
"Good morning." He spoke out, opening his eyes to reveal those crystal blues that she loved so very much.
"Did I wake you?" She asked him.
"No." He chuckled, "No, I was already kind of awake."
She slapped his chest lightly, "You just let me lay here staring at you, and you weren't even asleep?"
"I have to pee a little as well." He told her, "But having you laying in my arms seemed better than going to the bathroom."
She rolled over off of his chest, "Go to the bathroom. You'll feel a lot better if you did."
"I'd feel a lot better if you rolled back on top of me."
She smiled, "Go pee."
"Fine." He dragged his body out of bed, pulling Emma along with him.
"Why do I have to go?"
"I'm scared." He said in some little kid voice.
"Of what?"
He pulled her into his arms, "Of being without my Emma."
A light blush filled her cheeks as she gave his chest another slap, "Go."
As he entered the bathroom, Emma crawled back on top of the comforter. "Awe dude, you totally ruined my comfort of crawling back into bed this morning."
"Impossible." He spoke from the bathroom.
"It's completely possible." She spoke out.
It was quiet for a bit.
"I doubt I'll be able to get back into the mood of cuddling once more." She looked over her shoulder before falling into the comforter, "I'll just have to wake up for the day and wait for more cuddles until tonight."
A body landed on top of her, wrapping its arms around her small little torso, "You'll have to pry me off in order to get up."
"Is that a challenge?" She smirked at him.
"Do you want it to be?"
She flipped over so that she was sitting on top of him once again, "I don't know... do you want it to be?"
"Emma met a boy with eyes like a man... Turns out her heart fits right in the palm of his hand... Now he'll be her shelter when it rains... Little does he know, his whole world's about to change."
"And all the bad boys would be good boys... if they only had a chance to love her... And to tell you the truth, sometimes I wish I was her."
