“I don’t care much for stars,” Leath Boss announced.
“But you’re an astronomer,” Caldwell Douglasman pointed out.
“The irony is not lost on me.”
The two PhD researchers looked up at the sky. Boss felt as if he wanted to vomit.
“They’re beautiful. Just look at one. ‘Like a diamond in the sky….’
“Let’s just collect the data on the gaseous balls of nothingness. They’re from a millenia ago anyway, as you already know.”
“Of course.”
One fell from the sky like it was a grape plucked by a hand. It crashed to the ground a few thousand yards away.
