Premise: A girl discovers she can see the future, but every vision comes with a dangerous cost.

Chapter 1 – The Pendant

Lina Adeyemi never believed in anything extraordinary. School, homework, and her sister Amaka’s constant nagging were enough to fill her days. But today, everything changed.

While walking through the crowded Lagos market, she noticed an old silver pendant lying on a stall. Curious, Lina picked it up. The moment her fingers brushed the cool metal, the world around her blurred.

She saw a street she didn’t recognize, a bus speeding out of control, and screams. Her heart pounded. Then everything snapped back. Lina was alone, trembling, sweat dripping down her face.

Tosin, her best friend, nudged her. “You okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

“I… I don’t know,” Lina whispered. “Something happened… something strange.”

Chapter 2 – First Vision

The next day, Lina could barely concentrate in class. Her thoughts kept returning to the vision. When she switched on the news that evening, her blood ran cold.

The bus. The accident. Exactly as she had seen it.

A sudden headache struck, her vision blurred, and she collapsed to the floor. Tosin helped her to the couch.

“You’re scaring me,” he said, gripping her hand. “What’s going on?”

“I think… I can see the future,” Lina admitted. “And it hurts me.”

Chapter 3 – Testing the Power

Lina and Tosin experimented carefully. Touching objects, watching the world twist into future events. Each vision left her drained. Her palms burned, her head throbbed, and sometimes she fainted.

She saw a classmate falling down the stairs. When she tried to warn him, he ignored her. He tripped anyway. Lina’s chest tightened with guilt.

“This… this is dangerous,” she said. “I don’t know if I should keep doing this.”

Tosin nodded. “We’ll figure it out. Together.”

Chapter 4 – Dr. Eze

A week later, a man introduced himself at school as Dr. Eze, a researcher in psychic phenomena.

“You have a gift,” he said calmly. “One that can be dangerous if ignored. I can teach you to control it.”

Lina was torn. She wanted help, but something about him made her uneasy.

“What’s the cost?” she asked.

“You may not realize it yet,” he said with a faint smile. “But the more you see, the more it takes from you.”

Chapter 5 – Rising Stakes

Visions came faster and with higher stakes. Lina saw friends in danger, strangers hurt, and disasters unfolding. Each vision left her exhausted, sometimes sick.

One day, she saw Tosin trapped in a burning building. Panic surged through her. She tried to prevent it, but her effort failed. Tosin was okay, but Lina’s hands shook from the effort.

“This power isn’t a gift,” she whispered to herself. “It’s a curse.”

Chapter 6 – The First Failure

Lina tried to prevent an accident she saw: a car skidding on a rainy street. She ran into the road to warn the driver but was too late. The car crashed. No one was seriously hurt, but Lina was devastated.

“I failed,” she cried. “I thought I could change things… but I can’t.”

Tosin held her. “You’re still learning. Don’t blame yourself.”

Chapter 7 – Secrets Revealed

Lina discovered Dr. Eze was not helping her out of kindness. He had been recording her visions, hoping to profit from them.

Betrayal burned inside her. She realized she could trust no one except Tosin.

“Lina, we can stop him,” Tosin said. “We just need a plan.”

“Yes,” Lina agreed. “But I have to be careful. Every vision costs me something… maybe everything.”

Chapter 8 – Preparing for the Ultimate Vision

Lina’s visions escalated. She saw a massive explosion in the city — people screaming, buildings collapsing. She knew this was the ultimate test of her power.

Her body trembled with each vision, but she couldn’t turn away. Tosin helped her prepare, gathering information, planning each move.

“Whatever happens, we stick together,” he said.

Chapter 9 – The Climax

The day came. Lina faced the vision in real life. Smoke and fire filled the streets. People were running. Dr. Eze tried to manipulate her, but she resisted.

Lina concentrated, recalling every detail from the vision. She guided people to safety, directed emergency responders, and finally stopped the worst of the disaster.

When it was over, she collapsed. Every muscle in her body ached, but she had saved lives.

Chapter 10 – Resolution

Lina lay in her bed that night, exhausted but alive. She had accepted the cost of her gift. She knew it would always be part of her, but now she understood responsibility.

Tosin sat by her side. “You did it,” he said softly.

“I had to,” Lina whispered. “If I can help someone, I have to try… no matter the cost.”

The future was uncertain, but Lina felt ready. Whatever came next, she would face it.
