Dhanush's last theatre release was the highly successful Thiruchitrambalam and will be next seen in Naane Varuven, directed by Selvaraghavan. Naane Varuven is set to release this month. He also has Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller coming up.
Dhanush has been garnering national and international acclaim especially for dominating the Hollywood flick 'The Gray Man' with just a ten minute screen time. He followed that up with the blockbuster hit 'Thiruchitrambalam' costarring Nithya Menen and Bharathiraja which has reportedly crossed the hundred crores mark at the worldwide box office.
Now all eyes are focussed on D's next 'Naane Varuven' for which he combines once again with his maverick filmmaker brother Selvaraghavan. The film is all set to release by the end of September and promotions are slowly commencing.
We already have the info that Dhanush is playing powerful dual roles as the protagonist and antagonist. Fans cant wait to watch the two entirely different shades of the mass hero that too with a Selva touch. The Yuvan Shankar Raja musical produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu stars Dhanush, Prabhu, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Indraja Ravichandran and Elli AVram.
Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘Vaathi’ directed by Venky Atluri is all set to release in theatres on February 17. The movie’s music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar and the film’s audio launch happened on February 4 in Chennai. The juke box of the film has 5 songs and already two singles were released before the audio launch.
Speaking at the audio launch event, actor Dhanush said that only after acting in ‘Vaathi’ he understood how tough it is to be a teacher. The actor said that ‘Vaathi’ is a movie that is set in the 90s and added he understood how education and teachers are the main source in one’s life and how that can change things. He stated that director Venky Atluri reached out to him during lockdown to speak about the film’s story and was denying at that point of time, but later agreed to do it.
The actor also said that movie audience will like the film. He also heaped praise of actor Samuthirakani and said that now there are no films in Tamil or Telugu without Samuthirakani without being part of its cast.
The film is a socio political drama and it stars Dhanush as a Teacher and the rest of the cast includes Samyuktha Menon, Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, Tanikella Bharani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Aadukalam Naren among others.
