Under The Moon

A Flash Fiction

By Pore CamaraPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The world was silent the night it happened. The full moon refused to shine bright and the crickets didn’t grumble as I trampled on their playground. As my mother’s daughter, I should have respected the omen and not seek him out. I did see him, my moonlight lover, as the eerie night blanketed us.

“Babe, do you know female killers tend to go scot-free most of the time?”

My husband sat perplexed after cracking his homicide case. I sighed in a long night and closed the windows. Not without seeing the wink the moon threw at me.

I’m known as Cammy. One thing I have not been able to outgrow is my inquisitive nature. This has made me restless, overthink and even passionate about everything. The good thing is that it got me reading and writing most of the time.
