We are drawn in by the characters and their storylines, and we frequently wonder what gave the authors the idea to write such classic novels. Every beloved book has a backstory that is just waiting to be discovered—a story of inspiration, adversity, and tenacity.

The book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee is among the most cherished in the entire world. In the novel, a young girl named Scout grows up during the 1930s in the segregated South. She allows us to recognize the historical injustices and biases as well as the courage and kindness of people who battled against them.

What many readers might not be aware of is that Harper Lee mainly drew inspiration for the fictional village of Maycomb in her book from her own experiences as a child growing up in Monroeville, Alabama. Like Atticus Finch, the main character of the book, Lee's father was a lawyer, and Dill, a character inspired by Truman Capote, was named after Dill, a childhood friend of Lee's.

Despite the book's enormous popularity and favorable reviews, Harper Lee didn't write another book while she was alive. To the amazement of both fans and critics, a follow-up to "To Kill a Mockingbird" called "Go Set a Watchman" was released in 2015.

"The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald is another well-loved book that has won readers' hearts across the globe. The Roaring Twenties, a period of significant social and economic change in America, are when the book is set. It depicts the tale of the mysterious and affluent Jay Gatsby, whose luxurious lifestyle stands in sharp contrast to the destitution and hopelessness experienced by many others during the period.

Fitzgerald leaned extensively on his own life experiences to write "The Great Gatsby." The wealthy elite's dazzling and luxurious lifestyle drew him in, just like the book's protagonist, but he was also hurt and heartbroken by rejection and disillusionment.

"The Great Gatsby" has subsequently become a literary classic and is frequently regarded as one of the finest books of the 20th century, despite the book's initially lukewarm response. Its inclusion in the canon of literature has been cemented by numerous adaptations into plays, movies, and even operas.

J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" is another book that has won over people all over the world. Holden Caulfield, a disturbed and disillusioned adolescent who is seeking his place in the world, is the main character of the book. Through his eyes, we are able to observe the adult world's duplicity and fakery as well as the quest for purpose and authenticity.

When he wrote "The Catcher in the Rye," Salinger leaned extensively on his personal experiences. He was a disillusioned adolescent like Holden, trying to find his place in the world. He participated in World War II as well, and the atrocities he saw had a lasting impact on him.

The novel has become a literary classic and has been widely studied and transformed into a variety of media, despite its contentious topics and language. Readers of many ages and socioeconomic backgrounds continue to find inspiration and resonance in it.

C.S. Lewis's "The Chronicles of Narnia" is the last book. In the wonderful land of Narnia, where talking animals and fantastical creatures dwell, the series is set. The books center on a group of human youngsters who are sent to Narnia and given the job of overthrowing a wicked queen and bringing peace to the realm.

When he wrote "The Chronicles of Narnia," Lewis drew largely on his personal Christian convictions. His faith is reflected in the novels' abundance of allegories and religious themes, such as Aslan's sacrifice.
