UGH, Holiday Parking
A Little Christmas Frustration
Shopping on Christmas can be and really should be one of the most exciting thing to do of the whole year. Some of the world starts shopping for family gifts as soon as Christmas is over for the previous year while some start in the summer and last but not least are those that start or at least do most of their shopping on Black Friday.
Well, I am one of those who always says that they will start early, but every year, early happens to be just a few gifts bought during the after Christmas sales and then most of them are done between Black Friday and the week before Christmas. You would think with a big family that I would start early every year, but as much as I would like to, it gets put on the back burner with the year starts to really pick up. When you have five kids and fourteen grandchildren who have birthdays throughout the year on top of your parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nephews, it is hard to start early and so frustration when you start late. The rush of having so much shopping to do at the last minute can be irritating, time consuming, and even change your whole mood about Christmas. This year was no different. Here I was at the last minute trying to get all of my shopping done.
I pulled up at the mall and it was already packed. How could this be? It’s ten minutes before it even opens. I can’t believe this. There is no where to park already. This is crazy. Why do all of these people wait until the last minute? I really thought I was the only one who couldn’t seem to get it all done throughout the year! Ugh, I really hate waiting until the last minute! Next year I am going to do better!
After driving around for fifteen minutes I spotted a spot close to the building, even if it was far from an entrance. As I turn the corner and head over that way, I turn on the isle, and start to head into the spot when a car flies in from nowhere and takes it at a high speed. I am so furious. I just sit there. I am trying to decide whether or not to run them down with my car when they get out and start to walk towards the building, get out and cuss them out, or go bang on their window and punch them in the face. I mean how could they? Did they really not see me fixing to pull in. I mean they almost took the front end of my car, or at least my bumper with them. SMH.
Still sitting there not being able to decide what to do. The couple gets out of the car and my heart stills. The lady on the passengers side looks like she could give birth any day now. Oh, now I feel bad for all of the nasty thoughts I have been having. I look in my review mirror and there is a car leaving about five spaces closer to the building. I decided that it was a good thing that I didn’t loose my mind on this couple. I could have sent that poor woman into early labor. God that would have been horrible. I would have felt so bad, like an evil person.
I got into the parking spot and heading to the entrance. I spent the next six hours shopping for my family, my boyfriend and my friends. I ended up having a great time shopping and enjoying the rest of the day.
I am so glad that I stayed in the holiday spirit and not let the parking spot incident get to me and was able to just enjoy Christmas shopping!
