Two Universes

This story begins on two planets in two dimensions. Aerth was ruled by two twin brothers, Regash and Bagash, they were good and loved their planet and their people. Both brothers were about 6’3”, with bald heads and black eyes. The only difference they had was Bagash had a scar on the right side of his head where he fell off a tree when he was a kid and lastly, they can both do magic. Others on Aerth could do magic as well, but Regash and Bagash’s bloodline was the strongest of them all, which is why they rule. Both had sons Redash’s was named Covot he’s 12 and Badash’s Tilbar who is 14 and loving wives Tepa and Ranet.

The other planet was Earth, it did not have magic but instead great technologies. These two realms were connected by a portal that was made 10 years ago by an explosion in an updated portable teleportation unit (that was supposed to use less power and be lighter for easier transportation) they were testing, they later found out it wasn’t an accident, but sabotage. They looked for the saboteur but they were nowhere to be found. The portal was unstable until Regash used his powers to create one on Aerth side which stabilized it connecting the two universes. Both planets made a peace treaty and their people became friends, that was back then, and now there is war. How did it start you ask? Well, Bagash was helping with an experiment to fuse technology with magic when an accident happened and Bogash was vaporized in an energy wave when his energy beam hit the unshielded laser cannon. Regash wouldn’t listen to reason and went insane waging a war with Earth. Most of the people on Aerth didn't believe the humans would do such a thing. The humans used an energy shield to block the portal on their end but before they did some Aerthians ran across to Earth for safety and to help out any way they could. That was 2 months ago and now Regash broke through.

“Father, I don’t think the humans did this; it was an accident. ” Tibar said

“I agree, they’ve only been kind....” Covot was cut off

“They got to you too, my own family. Go to your rooms!” Redash said

“But Father,” The boys said in unison

“GO I SAID NOW!” Redash yelled

While walking to their rooms...

“I wish there was something we could do,” Covot whispered

“Me too, but we’d never make it out of the castle,” Tibar answered touching his cousin's shoulder.

“I know, I just don’t want anyone to get hurt or worse,” Covot said as a tear went down his face.,

“I don’t either.” He gave Tibar a hug.

The boys walked into their rooms.

“Meanwhile on Earth the year was 2304, there was a woman, an ordinary woman who was a genius, she considered herself the new age Tony Stark, her name was Doctor Virginia Vox. She was also CEO and head engineer at her company Vox Corp. Virginia had hair as red as a rose and eyes as green as Emeralds. Her skin was pale and she wore lipstick that matched her hair almost perfectly. She was a tiny 4’10”, and she had to stand on step stools to reach some of the gadgets in her workshop, which she had scattered all around where she did most of her work. The contractors said they could shorten the tables for her, but she said no, she didn’t want to inconvenience the other engineers.

The Earth didn’t have separate leaders for each country and states on it, but one leader of an organization called One for All... named after the saying from the Three Musketeers. Other alien planets could join and use any of the services the OFA had. Amy Most and the twins came up with the idea and rules the OFA had. This was like the United Nations way back when but for all inhabitants of the planets that joined. There were 3291 civilizations in the OFA between the Earth and Aerth dimensions, but now they couldn’t get to their allies over there because any ships they sent through were destroyed as was the transmitter that was made to be able to communicate with the other worlds in the Aerth dimension. Vox Corp tried to replicate with different energies on Earth to make the rift in the hope they could reach other planets for help but they had no luck so they were cut off from their other allies. Regash thought anyone not on his side was an enemy and some planets sided with him out of fear. Vox commanded some of the tiny nano-drones to fly to a few of the closest planets to find one where they could build another transmitter which wouldn’t take long with the zip drives in them. The problem was Virginia didn’t know how many were on their side, so she also had some of them to spy on the other planets to see which ones were on Earth's side, then transmit the answer to the worker drones so they could give a message to the rest of them where to build it. Then they had to find a frequency in which Regash couldn’t find as well as break through the portal to connect the two universes again. This would be difficult because they each had to make their own signals on their side because neither Vox nor the brothers could make one that would work. This would take time...if they could do it at all and until then it was just a waiting game to see what Regash had in mind.

Viginia Vox and anyone with clearance had nano-storage and chips embedded in their brains. These chips had 4 1024-bit encrypted firewalls that were impossible to get through. These “brain vaults” held all the secrets of every project Vox Corp. Developed so they can be locked from their brains and opened as soon as they entered a lab, they had clearance to go into. When they left the lab, their brain drive was closed and they lost all memory of the project they were working on. If someone in another lab needed help as soon as that person one lab and into another, the sectors the drive that had the info they were working on was closed off and they would learn the info they needed for the project that was being worked on in that lab. The only way to get to this information is by a brainwave scan of them thinking a specific phrase which was different for everyone. If someone quit, was fired or tried to steal the tech, she could think a code to the drive which would tell it to self-destruct, rendering the drive unusable, then the nano-bots would erase all memory of them working for Vox Corp. this didn’t hurt the surrounding brain tissue it just gave the recipient a little headache. There was a consumer version in which some things were taken out for instance the brain drive didn’t lock information inside it, instead it was just a drive to fit more information. They only had 512-bit encryption and lastly, the disable and self-destruct was extra and can only be done by voice. Vox thought after a few versions when the lab version was updated, they could put some of these features in the consumer version. Dr. Vox had 6 drives in her head, so she could remember every project at once, but even when she left the building the data was locked up in the brain vaults so if she was taken hostage, she could even think a special phrase to destroy the brain vaults in her head. When she died the information would be stored on the server in the bigger electronic vault similar to the ones that were in their brains until the person, she chose to take her place had the vaults insured in their brain. This would all happen in less than five minutes.

She had to be paranoid, her competitors tried to steal tech from her company before. They were caught, but she figured there was only time before someone succeeded. The chips and drives were already developed, she just needed a way to safely put them inside a human brain and then install the greater encryption and special nano-bots that would be dormant until needed. This took only 3 months and the delivery system was tested for another year. She hired enough IT specialists to work 24/7 to keep their secrets safe, it cost a fortune but losing the tech would cost even more.

What was in these drives, well the tech mentioned above as well as very small and light shield emitter...the previous drives were much bigger and were just used for the servers. The nano drives used a special shell that is also in the brain drive. Then there are the nano-bots, her competitors actually had a superior version until she developed the NB3 models, these bots were not only tougher because they used her proprietary shell but they could also surround themselves and shoot fire, ice, acid, poison, and low powered lasers...which is what Badash was trying to help make more powerful. The microscopic bots could also come together as a hive to create any shape to become a tool or even a weapon if needed.

“Dr. Vox, I’m done with my part of the project,” Dr. Richards said

“Okay good, I’ll be there in a second to take a look.”

Virginia Vox walked into lab 4 and stood next to Dr. Richards, she looked at him and he at her with his brown eyes, he was a good foot taller than her and lanky with brown hair which was covered by what looked like a surgeon's cap which everyone had to wear along with booties and gowns because the labs were one big sterile area. Everyone had to go through a decontamination room before entering the lab area.

“Ok, now let's test the transmitter.” Dr. Vox said

She had two nano-bots to pick up the transmitter, find a vein and make a microscopic prick into it where they traveled through the vascular system and across the blood-brain barrier, then they gently put it in place the transmitter implanted itself, sending out microscopic fiber cables to the part of the brain that transmits to the ear. Virginia Vox then thought:

“Do you hear me? Testing 1, 2, 3.”

What she said came out of the speaker in Dr. Richard's communicator on his wrist.

“Holy shit it works!” Dr. Richard said enthusiastically, clapping.

“Now we have to work on the display brain implant, but good work.” She tapped Dr. Richards on the shoulder.

Dr. Vox opened a channel to everyone that was on the project.

“For one I want to thank everyone who made this project come together so smoothly.”

Everyone clapped some hugged, some gave high fives.

“Second, I’m not going to make anyone do this, but if you want you can test one, you’ll get a trip to the resort on Galaca for you and your family for one week when this whole fiasco with Aerth is settled. I can only send some of you at a time because I need some people to work with me in the lab” Dr. Vox laughed “but Everyone will get to go.”

The communicator on her screen started beeping like crazy, everyone working on the project wanted to try it.

She sent out the bots to install them on everyone in the lab.

Dr. Vox then opened up a channel to everyone in the building, except the labs.

“Everyone, may I have your attention, please? I’m giving anyone who wants to a chance to test out the new in the brain communicator for consumers. If you decide to do it, I’ll give you a week extra off with pay to visit family, travel, or do whatever you want to do, when this is all over. I’ll let a couple go at a time per division.”

The notification sound on her communicator went off for over a minute. 95% of the company said they’d try it. Vox smiled.

She sent out the drones to install them. The consumer version was a bit different from the lab version, it didn’t have brain talk, instead, there was a bone mic installed around their jawline so they can talk wirelessly also the data speed was lowered a bit and voice compression was a little more, they both had upgraded translators that should be quicker to learn new languages than the old version in their wrist communicators. This was done to keep the price down (and to not have the same features the lab ones have).

On Aerth Redash started looking through books of spells for one he could use to crush his enemies. People were afraid to be around him because if they didn’t say what he wanted to hear he’d either send them to prison or kill them and no one knew what he was going to do from one second to another.

In one of the books, he thought he found the answer. He yelled for a servant and one entered the room.

“Yes, Sir Regash” the servant said.

“Bring me the biggest diamond and blue sapphire you can find, and make it quick.” Regash barked

The servant bowed “yes sir.” and ran out of the room into the treasure vault and searched it. A few minutes later he found the sapphire and put it in a pocket in his jacket. He searched for the diamond and found it, put it in the pocket as well, and then ran to Regash and handed them to him.

Regash ranted something the servant couldn’t make out; he looked up at him and said “you can leave now.” and the servant ran out of the room.

Regash took the book and the gems and walked outside. Everybody within eyeshot looked up to see where he was going. The mad leader quickly walked to a big open area and opened the book. He put the gems down far away from each other then said the spell in the book, a few seconds later two dragons one made of diamond and the other made of sapphire started to take shape, they made bone-chilling screams that were heard by everyone in the kingdom. Once they fully formed, they took off flying, Regash gave a command to the diamond dragon and fire appeared in its stomach-turning it red, then the fire shot out of its mouth and hit some trees. Then he gave a command to the sapphire one and it put the fire out by freezing the area, trees around the area had frost on them, if it wasn’t for the reason, it would be a pretty site. Regash looked pleased and made his way to the portal, dragons above him.

While everyone was distracted the boys ran through the portal. The nearest guard on the other side was standing at his post not far from the portal.

“We need to speak to Viginia Vox and your president, it’s of great importance.” The child said to a guard

“I can try and raise both on my communicator, give me a second.” He called the guard called Vox Corp and told him the boys came through the portal and said they need to talk to Dr. Vox and the president right away.

A few moments later Dr. Vox’s voice came over the communicator and a few more after that the presidents.

“Regash is coming, and he has two dragons, one shoots fire the other ice, you have about 5 minutes.”

“Thank you for letting us know.” Vox replied “Madam President go to your bunker and don’t come out until I give the okay, you have to stay safe. I have to go, I’ll be there shortly, I need to do something really quick.” About 30 seconds later Vox appeared from the teleporter near the portal. Have the boys take the teleporter to Vox Corp she’ll be safe there.” Vox said quickly.

“Thank you!” the guard held out his hand.

“You’re very welcome, we know humans didn’t kill Bagash.” Covot took his hand and shook it, then Tibar did the same.

“Now you must go to safety, go to that teleporter and I’ll tell them to teleport you, run now.” said the guard

The Covot and Tibar ran to the pad and the man told them to teleport them and they vanished.

The guard then put out an emergency alert for everyone to get to safety as quickly as possible. People around the town went into their houses and closed their doors. Dr. Vox appeared on the teleporter pad with nanites in back of her, she thought a command, and the nanites turned into two huge dragons, then cloaked.

“Let's not show our cards too early but If he has dragons, now I have dragons as well.” Vox thought to herself.

The president from her bunker made an announcement to everyone on Earth.

“This is the President, everyone must go to safety, we don’t know what Redash is capable of and I don’t want people to get harmed. We’re going to put shields up around every town in every state. Stay safe.”

Dr. Vox thought another command and a dome shield covered the town.

Two minutes later Redash and his dragons came through the portal, one by one.

She had her drones do a scan of them and saw that they were made out of diamond and sapphire.

“Hmmm, very impressive.” She said in a low voice to herself.

Redash gave the order to attack and the two dragons started flying toward Vox.

“Wait...wait...wait...NOW! Dr. Vox yelled

Her dragons while cloaked started flying towards Regash’s and then uncloaked firing fire bolts at the dragons, there was no effect.

“So, I have a spy among my people. I’ll take care of them later.” Redash said

The Sapphire dragon fired a freeze ray at one of the dragons, the shields took a little damage, but not much. The diamond dragon filled up with fire and shot a fireball, again the shields took a little damage.

“This is going to be harder than I thought” Redash thought to himself.

Redash commanded both dragons to concentrate their beams on one dragon in two different areas. They both fired. Shields went down a bit more but held.

Vox gave a command for one to go left and the other right while rising to an altitude of 1000 feet. The two dragons split up and rose high in the sky. Redashe’s dragons followed the one that took the most damage and fired at full power. The nano dragon banked right and down to about 20 feet from the ground, one shot hit the shields and went down more. Vox had an idea; she made the nano-bot shields strong enough to handle the coldness of space and the heat to re-enter Earth's atmosphere. She commanded Both dragons to climb into space. They started climbing 1000 feet, 10,000 feet, and past the upper atmosphere into space. The diamond and sapphire dragons followed. Next Vox gave the command to turn around and fire, the dragons did so. One shot at the sapphire one and it shattered, the other shot at the diamond one and missed. The diamond dragon fired and hit one of the nano-dragons which took little damage. Radesh screamed in anger while running toward Vox firing fire and ice, over and over, the shields taking a little damage from each shot, but not enough. He gets to the shield and puts both hands on it, they turn red, the shield starts to go down faster. Both dragons swoop down and one of them grabbed Radesh and held him in the air. He tried to get free but couldn't.

“Get the boys, have them wait outside the prison while I talk to Redash.” She thought

A guard answered, “Yes Dr. Vox.”

Vox gave a command and the dragon flew off, taking Redash into town, then the dragon turned human-like still holding him. It walked into the prison and into a cell then morphed into a wall around him, cloaked, and went transparent so Redash couldn’t use his powers to escape. Vox walked into the room.

“I know you’re angry and just want to blame someone, but we didn’t kill your brother. He asked me to take down the shield that forms around the laser before firing it. He wanted to make it stronger so I could boost the power on my nano-bots energy beams. I told him it was dangerous but he said he could handle it. When he shot his energy at the laser cannon there was a reaction that made an energy wave that vaporized him. This like the teleporter explosion that made the portal between our worlds was sabotage. We never caught the person who did it thinking they fled to another country or through the portal. This time we had cameras mounted to record the experiment but the saboteur didn’t know this so we could see it wasn’t anyone from my lab, because they all knew about the cameras. This is the person who killed your brother...do you recognize him?

Radesh watched the video in shock. “Yes, he’s one of my guards.”

“There was a shield around both him and the laser so the wave didn’t get through to the rest of the engineers or myself but he was gone. He knew it was dangerous but wanted to help us, wanted to help me. I’m so sorry Redash, your brother was a good person and friend.

Redash collapsed to the floor crying. “Our parents are dead; our wives and our kids are the only family left in our bloodline. How am I going to rule without Badash, he and I were like one. My heart is broken, I don’t know if I can do this on my own.”

“Then don’t, you have family, they’ll be there for you, and we’ll be there for you as well.”

Redash looked up at Vox with tears running down his face. “Our children last night told me they didn’t think it was your fault, they tried to plead to me to not blame you and so many of my people also believe in your innocents. Part of me knows it wasn’t your fault, I just feel helpless and broken.”

Vox gave a command and the nano-bot turned human-like again, Redash looked up and Vox walked to him, got on the ground, and gave him a hug.

“You’re not alone, I swear.” Vox started to cry.

She helped Redash up and they walked out of the cell together and out of the building. People watched as they did in silence. His and Badash’s son run up to him and both hug him.

“So, you came here after I told you not to,” Redash asked

“Yes sir.” The Tabar answered, “I talked Covot into it, we had to do something.”

“I’ll punish you later, but I love you both,” Redash said looking at the boys with tears in his eyes.

Redash hugged them again. “Let's go home.”

They walk toward the portal and then through to Aerth. For many years after Earth and Aerth were at peace again. They helped each other through hard times. Even now there is peace 300 years later. Covot’s daughter Molat now rules, but there is the same love and respect.

Dr. Vox's daughter now runs Vox Corp. Viginia fell in love and married a Aerthian named Dotan. Aerthians and humans couldn't have children the conventional way, but with some gene splicing, they created the first hybrid child by the name of Christina Vox. 60 years later after her mother died at the age of 91, Christina took over as CEO and head engineer. She was smarter than her mother, graduated high school at 9 and got 6 degrees by the age of 21. She's now 78 years old but doesn't look a day over 25, they still don't know how long a hybrid from their cultures will live. As more humans started dating Aertharians cloning to birth children became a regular thing.

Vigina with the help of Redash found a way to be able to teleport through the portal. Christina Vox at the age of 24 created the personal teleporter chip and now people from both universes can teleport anywhere that had an arrival pad. Christine also found a way to open more portals to other universes. Now there are over 17,000 planets in the OFA. Not all planets are friendly, but the OFA is a force to be reckoned with. They've been keeping the peace for all these years.

This was the story of the two universes that became one and now became many. I hope you decide to become part of the OFA family.
