Luiza's POV:

10th September 2018

6:22 AM

Luiza's phone alarm beeped in her head like a drum. "Ughh. This is awful. I'm tired."

Ooo-kay. This is my chance to finally make some friends. At the countryside everyone avoided me, and I don't know why. I'm so scared. My sister is already at school, and my mom is driving to work. What if all my classmates will hate me? Come on, this is not the time Luiza, get a hold of yourself.

She got out of bed, had a shower, combed her hair, ate some cereal with milk, got dressed in the school uniform (okay, she got to admit it was a little tighter and more formal than the one she had at her old school, but the tie was absolutely adorable) and she checked the time. It read 7:45. Amazing, she thought as she left the house and locked the door.

Now that she moved to a new town and a new school, everything was new. The shops were a lot larger, the schools definitely had more students in them, about 1.000 each as she thought. She stared at all the cheerful students placed in crowds laughing, dancing, gossiping, you name it. Honestly, she's scared of what others might think of her. But at least there may be some kids that understood her, right?

At one point, she stopped. In front of her was a wall painted with multiple colours suggesting the beauty of nature, and in rainbow letters it read: "WELCOME TO ALEXANDRU CIUCURENCU! WHERE CHILDREN FROM THE FIRST GRADE ALL THE WAY UP TO TWELFTH LEARN AND BECOME OLYMPICS!"

Huh. That's pretty interesting. It was 2 groups. A and B. But...I need to be in class 7C, right? Oh wait, it says what classes are in the groups. Oh my god, there are SO MANY! Also, what time is it? 8:30. I needed to be here at around 9:30. How much time am I going to spend here? I'm kind of scared, why are there so many students in the 12th gra-

Her train of thought was interrupted by a gentle tap on her shoulder. She quickly flinched and turned around, just to be greeted by a girl. She was about as tall as her, with dark brown eyes and long brown hair put in a high ponytail. She had this... Interesting personality? She had a bright smile on her face. She had a couple of keys in her hand all stuck to a cute keychain with a yellow heart. It must be her favourite colour, she thought.

"Who are you? I don't remember ever seeing you before. Why are you here this early?" she asked her.

"Uhh... I was just... you know, checking the painting on the walls? What are YOU doing here may I ask?"

"I came here to open the door to go to my class, I'm the class president after all, gotta make sure everything stays in place. What grade are you in? What class? I don't recognise you at all."

"I-I just came to this school....I'm in grade, uhh.... 7C." Damn, what the hell is wrong with me? Why is she intimidating, she's just the class president of the class and I shouldn't be scared of anyo-

"That's SO COOL!!! You're the new kid then, right??? I'm 7C's class president, you're going to be my classmate! I hope we will be deskmates. I'm Liana, by the way."

"I'm Luiza, nice to meet you."

They shook hands and she started showing her around. The school was actually really big, and had a lot of projects and paintings on the walls all made by the students. She actually is very friendly, and her name is interesting! If I'm friends with her, that means I'll have even more friends!

They arrive in front of a light green door with three phrases: B9-> IIC, VIIC. Huh, these are the Roman numerals for 2 and 7. Interesting!

She opens the locked door and they enter the classroom. It's very tidy and has a lot of windows. It has 3 rows of 5 desks, each having 2 chairs, meaning there were about 30 students in the class.

"You'll need to make a name tag so the teachers will recognise you. Write your name with a coloured marker and draw something around it to make others aware of you passions. This is mine." She quickly shuffled through her galaxy-coloured backpack and grabbed a piece of paper divided in three, with her name written in cursive with a greenish-yellow colour, around it being many mathematical formulas and calculations. They made their way almost to the back end of the classroom, stopping right at the second-to-last desk of the first row, and both of them putting their backpacks at the 2-seat desk.

"So you really like math huh?" she asked, a smirk pulling at the corners of her mouth.

"Yeah.. I've always adored it more than any other subject. I know it sounds weird, but when I grow up, I want to become an engineer just like my dad."

"That's cool! I want to become an architect, but I could be an artist on the side as well, I've always been praised for my art!"

"Amazing! Then put a brush or a pallet near your name and use a lot of colours."

They talked for a little while and laughed about the troublesome students of 7C and how she can't wait for "the new kid" to meet them.

"My classmates are really, really hoppy but don't worry, they'll just ask you a bunch of questions, they always do that with the new kids, it's like a routine: What's your name? When were you born? Where was your last school? Do you like someone? Who is it? ...and a lot more."

"Do you like someone?" This is really ridiculous. Like, I never liked anyone, how would I know?

She suddenly looked at the white clock near the door and it read: 9:25. But as soon as her eyes darted back to her new friend, a few voices echoed through the halls.

"Shut the hell up, it's not like you're any better than me!"

"At least I don't wear those old ass shoes everyday or eat a truck of food a day like you!"

"How are we even friends? We're just both competing to see who gets better grades than the other. Ugh."

"Not my fault you don't have my fashion sense!"

"Yeah. As if fashion sense meant wearing Mickey Mouse hoodies."

The voices started fading as the two students went to another corridor.

"My god, they are fighting again."

"Who?"

"Andra and Emily. They do this every week. I don't even know how they still talk to each other. This is one of the classes' drama or iconic group. But there are many, many more. More than I can count on my fingers. There they come."

"Why do the creators never update it? It's such a good game!

"I know, right? It hasn't got a single update since like, 2016 or something."

"Let's just agree with one thing: Hearts Of Iron 4 is better than your Rocket League, guys. It's just superior, you gotta admit."

"Bro, have you seen the Far Cry games? Like Far Cry 3 with the freaking- CASSOWARY birds that are just walk-in' up to you and being like >>hey, I'ma eat you real quick>>."

Ohohoho, those were 4 voices. Not one, two, three, but F O U R. And that sent Luiza into a sudden panic. Her palms were sweating, she was a little shaky, and pretty scared overall.

"Awwww, look! The little kids even drew a little on the board!" A tall, brown haired, hazel-eyed girl entered the classroom with her black and white backpack hanging from her right shoulder. "Leana, who's this?"

"H-h-hi I'm Luiza, nice to meet you." she stuttered. Oh, this was way harder than she expected.

"Don't worry Miru, she's the new girl. C'mon, talk to her."

"I'M WILLING TO KILL YOU, I KNOW ALL OF US HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS BUT I DON'T CARE! I'M GONNA TAKE A KNIFE AND STAB YOU IN THE THROAT!" a high-pitched voice yelled as a very short boy wearing a hoodie and having a phone in is hands entered the room. He was no more than 1.50 meters tall. She was almost laughing at him, but she was scared of making a bad impression.

"I don't know about you, but I'd do anything to just shutyourgoddamnmouth." another kid yelled, the last couple of words being muffled and hard to process.

This one had messy brown hair and tired green eyes, as if he had stayed up all night trying to sleep. She gotta admit she felt quite bad for him, but just listened to the fight together with her friend.

Just then, a lot of students came barging in the classroom, name tags in their hands and backpacks on their backs, all very colourful, then Mrs. Ilie, the head-teacher, arrived with the catalogue in her left hand and a bright smile on her face. She always loved her students more than anything.

"Alright, alright. Any new children this year?"

"Yes, miss! Here she is! Introduce yourself!"

"Okay... Hello everyone... I'm Luiza Chirilov, I'm 13 years old and I have moved here from the countryside. I like Literature and I usually paint in my free time, it's a passion I got from my mom. Nice to meet you all!" Maybe accidentally meeting the class president actually increased my confidence.

She looked around the classroom, but something was missing. Someone wasn't present there. Eh, they are just sick. Not me though, I'm gonna try and get good grades and never be absent! She sat down on the closest desk to the window, right near Liana.

"Oh, wait guys, Mrs. Bala is calling me! Be right back!"

As soon as she left the classroom to answer her call, the students already ran up to her and started asking her multiple questions. It was kinda stressing, but Luiza didn't mind.

"When did you move here?"

"Do you have any friends? I could be your friend!"

"What's your number? Let me add you to the group chat!"

The group chat? This class actually has a group chat? How cool! That way I can talk with them every after school!

She gave her number and instantly the classmates welcomed her. It was like she was the ideal child to enter that classroom. Everybody was so nice to her, unlike the kids at her old school.... Just because she was smart, she would be easily bullied.

But that doesn't mean she didn't fight back. Oho, she often did. The amount of patience she has is exponentially small, so she doesn't wait a second before shouting or hitting the bullies.

The students all received their books, each a different colour and subject. She glanced at the total and had a silent mental breakdown... 19 SUBJECTS? AM I GOING INSANE? Don't worry, you're gonna be fine.

She got to admit, she liked the Music textbook the most. Why, you may ask? Well, because its cover is light purple, her favourite colour. Also, she has always liked music, she was actually enrolled in choir back in 5th grade. But now, she needed to focus on the more important subjects, like Math. Or literature. Or grammar.

10:44 PM

I guess I should go to sleep... Luiza thought. It was only the first day of school and, after all, she had to get accommodated to the schedule even thought it is not that busy. She has 4 days with 6 hours of school and 1 day, Friday, with only 5 hours. Each day, school starts at 12 PM, so she has almost the whole evening and the whole morning to complete her homework and learn the lessons for the next day.

Oh, this is gonna be an interesting school life.

As she put the charger in her phone, she lay down on her bed and she almost immediately dozed off.
