Introduction of the Transformers:

The film opens with Optimus Prime narrating the history of the AllSpark, an ancient and powerful artifact that can create life. It is lost in space, and both the Autobots and Decepticons search for it. Their war has ravaged their home planet, Cybertron, and now they have come to Earth in pursuit of the AllSpark.

Sam Witwicky's Story:

On Earth, the teenage protagonist Sam Witwicky (played by Shia LaBeouf) buys his first car, an old yellow Camaro, which turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee in disguise. Sam is a normal high schooler who just wants to impress his crush, Mikaela Banes (played by Megan Fox). Meanwhile, Sam's great-great-grandfather, an Arctic explorer, inadvertently discovered the frozen body of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, during an expedition.

Unknowingly, Sam holds a pair of glasses that contain a map etched by his great-great-grandfather, showing the location of the AllSpark on Earth. The Decepticons are after these glasses to find the AllSpark.

Decepticon Attacks:

The Decepticons launch a series of attacks on Earth to gather information about the AllSpark's whereabouts. One of the Decepticons, Blackout, attacks a U.S. military base in Qatar, wiping out much of the staff to hack into the military network. This attack leads Captain Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and his team to start investigating the strange forces at play.

Arrival of the Autobots:

Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots—Ironhide, Ratchet, and Jazz—arrive on Earth and meet Sam and Mikaela. They explain their mission to retrieve the AllSpark before the Decepticons can use it to conquer Earth. The Autobots pledge to protect humanity while searching for the artifact.

Sector 7:

Sam and Mikaela get caught up in the government’s secret operations when they are captured by Sector 7, a covert government agency that has been tracking the Transformers for decades. Sector 7 has Megatron's frozen body in their possession at the Hoover Dam, where they have also stored the AllSpark after it was discovered.

Sam explains that the Decepticons are searching for the AllSpark, and the Autobots are trying to stop them. Under pressure from the emerging threat, the government agrees to work with the Autobots.

Battle for the AllSpark:

The Autobots and humans head to the Hoover Dam, where the AllSpark is hidden, but they are followed by the Decepticons. A massive battle ensues, with Megatron awakening from his frozen state. He seeks to use the AllSpark to build a Decepticon army and rule the universe.

The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, fight the Decepticons in a final showdown in the city. Optimus tells Sam that if he cannot stop Megatron, Sam must push the AllSpark into Optimus's chest, sacrificing him to destroy the artifact. However, in the heat of the battle, Sam thrusts the AllSpark into Megatron’s chest instead, which overloads him with power and destroys both Megatron and the AllSpark.

Ending:

With Megatron defeated, the remaining Decepticons retreat, and the world is saved. Optimus Prime sends out a message to any surviving Autobots, asking them to come to Earth. He vows to protect the planet alongside the humans.

In a final scene, Starscream, one of Megatron’s top lieutenants, escapes into space, hinting at future conflicts.
