I didn't ask him to text me that day, I didn't ask him to come into my life, I even tried to avoid it. He had someone, the kind of someone that people call "a girlfriend", the kind of someone I should've avoided, But I didn't. I befriended her, I befriended him, then I got sucked into their world, a world I never would've thought I'd exist in.

Clinton and Cynthia weren't exactly a "fan favorite" their 'coming of date' story was a tad weird even. Clinton was fascinated by Laura, Cynthia's sister ever since high school and for some weird reason, he never met Cynthia, she never visited the boarding school they both attended, she never accompanied her parents to pick Laura up at the end of every term so how could he have met her?

Laura was so gorgeous, with her perfect jet black hair that felt like she applied relaxer from the moment she was born. Her eyes were also surprisingly jet black, her skin so fair and soft that people wondered if she was a half caste child. But she wasn't, she isn't she is an Igbo girl, born of an Igbo father and a Yoruba mother who had an Australian mother. So yes, maybe you could say that she had some "white blood" in her. Clinton always liked it when she smiled under the sun, reason being that her skin shone brighter than it ever did when she was under the sun which in turn complimented her smile and made her look as beautiful as ever. 'aren't you tired of waiting?' she asked once they got into the classroom 'huh?' he asked, clearly confused, 'you've liked me for 5 years now, you've wanted me for yourself, so why haven't told me about it?', 'what if I had died in the process of your waiting?' Clinton finally understood what she was talking about. And so, they had a long conversation about it that lasted till the assembly ended.

In due time, they started dating, this happened 2 weeks after their confession to each other. Their first kiss was on that day too, January 24, a day he would never forget, a day that became so significant to him. She was sitting on his lap in the band room in school 'can I be your boyfriend?' he asked her which in turn made her smile, he always knew the right things to say, the right questions to ask, he made her happy.
