From Temptation to Justice: A Thief’s Fate

An old farmer lived with his wife in a village. He had a small farm. The farmer used to support himself and his wife by sowing some vegetables in that farm and selling them.
Once the farmer thought that this time the groom would sow turnips in the entire farm. He asked his wife I think I should sow turnips in the farm this time, what do you think
The wife said, If the turnip crop is good, then we will be able to live comfortably, otherwise we will have to struggle for food.
If I will water the crop on time, take good care of it, then the crop will definitely be good, said the farmer. Then the farmer sowed his crop in the fields.
The farmer was lucky that this time the turnip crop was very good. One day when the old farmer went to the farm, he was surprised to see that pieces of turnip were scattered everywhere in the field. He bent down and saw that there were lots of turnips lying around, but only small pieces of them were left.
The farmer could not understand how this could be possible. He started thinking that if someone had stolen the turnips, he would have taken them away as a whole. Someone has tried to harm me by cutting the turnips into pieces. This is definitely the work of an enemy. Thinking this, he reached home and said to his wife I am not able to understand who we have enmity with
His wife said We have no enmity with anyone, please tell us openly. What is the matter
The farmer said Someone has tried to harm us. There are lots of pieces of turnips lying in our field. If someone had stolen them, he would have taken away the turnips only. This seems to be a trick of an enemy that he cut the turnips into pieces. Who can be our enemy
His wife said It seems your brain has become old, that is why you are thinking about the enemy. Who can be our enemy Surely some animal must be eating our crop.
The old farmer liked the old womans words and he went to the field to guard at night. He sat hidden in the grass on the edge of the field with an axe in his hand. Suddenly in the middle of the night the bear came and took out the turnip and started eating some and throwing some.
Without thinking twice, the farmer threw his axe forcefully towards the bear. The axe hit the bears hind leg and one of its legs fell off. The bear limped towards the forest screaming in pain. After his departure, the farmer picked up the bears leg and came home.
The old woman was happy to see the leg. The old woman washed the leg and removed its skin. She wove wool from its hair and then put the meat of the leg to cook. The farmer and his wife enjoyed the meat thoroughly.
On the other hand, Bhalu, upset with his leg being cut, started thinking of taking revenge from the farmer. He went to the forest and made a fourth leg out of a tree and started walking with a knocking sound. Then one day, finding an opportunity, he reached the farmers house in the morning. He started humming a song from outside
My broken leg
You recognize me,
You made me handicapped,
Come out, come out,
Your life is in trouble
The farmer and his wife started trembling on hearing Bhalus voice. They quickly ran to close the door but Bhalu had already come inside by then. Both of them got scared and went inside the cupboard.
Bhalu was roaming around the house singing and limping. His wooden leg was making a knocking sound. Suddenly his wooden leg came out and he lost his balance.
Bhalu fell into the basement near the stairs of the house. As soon as the farmer heard the sound of the bear falling in the cellar, he came out of the cupboard and closed the cellar door.
The farmers wife went outside the house and started making noise. All the neighbors gathered. Together they killed the bear. Now the farmer started living peacefully.
