Endless Hope
Mischief and kindness mingled together, as the two boys lowered themselves into the dark, damp and musty stone well.
They hadn’t gotten too far, before they were able to get a better look at the source of the endless crying.
Sitting on the edge of the water collected on the floor of the well, was a small fairy. As she cried, her iridescent wings fluttered, scattering bursts of glittering light.
The fear on her face was palpable, as she realized their presence.
“There are no more,” she cried.
The boys asked in unison, “no more what?”
“Wishes,” she sobbed.
