The Whoo's-Whoo's Club

The Weird Housewives of Meck County

By Tuesdays MomPublished 4 years ago 8 min read

As the thunder roared loud and the lightning struck bold and bright, I stared out of my newly overnight sensation billionaire of a husband and I's multi-million dollar living room bay window in disbelief about the recent events that just took place right before my eyes. I needed a drink. Hell at this point I needed a bottle of wine. As I stood up stretched and walked across the newly installed, custom heated marbled floors, I noticed that had been trailing of what looked liked feathers. It made me cringe because the feathers were a conformation that I was indeed a witness of what I thought up until this night was impossible.

My husband and I bought this home about six months ago, right after he had won the lottery. It was beautiful. I mean it had all the works . Swimming pool, four car garage, you name it, we had it. And not to mention that it sat on over four acres of land surrounded by the most beautiful pine trees I had ever seen. My husband and I had been married for exactly 8 long years. Both of us were tall, dark and equally beautiful and handsome so naturally we were the most popular couple throughout our four years of our local high school and got married just before we both started college. He was currently a retired scientist turned entrepreneur due to his winnings and I was just his lucky house wife looking to find my new purpose.

On a crisp cool morning after our official move in date, I decided to go out for a run to clear my head of the recent congratulations and money chaos and focus on my new future. I stopped to stretch and turned around and smiled as I caught a glimpse of what had to been one of the most beautiful and well groomed dogs I had ever seen. "Well hello there new neighbor." I smiled and spoke back to the long legged blond walking the beautiful pup, "Hello how are you?" She extended her manicured hand and I shook it and noticed she had a pair of the most oddly beautiful bright eyes that I had ever seen in my life and I couldn't help but to notice how fast she was talking. "Welcome to Meck County! My name is Jessica and I am the head of the Meck County wives club. I had been meaning to stop by you and your husbands home yesterday when I heard about my new neighbors and their newfound riches ! Congrats by the way!" I don't know if it was the amount of excitement in Jessica's voice or the way her eyes were just weirdly huge but, I felt so comfortable around her already. Almost to the point where I just wanted to shout "Can we be friends?" "But any-who I didn't catch your name?" I smiled and was happy that she even asked, "My name is Trina and my husbands name is Mike." "Such lovely names for such a lovely couple! Me and the ladies saw you all getting settled in late last night and couldn't help but to talk about how beautiful you all are and how extremely lucky you all are as well. I hope you all have an investor but if not you'll meet a few wives tonight at our Whoo's-Whoo's meeting." I shook my head as I put her words together. It sounds like I was being invited out. I've been so caught up in Mikes overnight success that I haven't had anytime to hang out. And with the looks of this neighborhood, I'm pretty sure they will have some decent wine. "Of course I'll be there! Should I bring anything and what time should Mike and I arrive?." "O no dear, this meeting is for the wives only. And no worries about bringing anything except for a open mind. Ill see you at 12 midnight at my home. Its just around the bend there, O, and you might want to drive dear, it can be a bit of a far walk. Cheers!" Before I could get a thank you for inviting me out of my mouth, Jessica and her pooch were speed walking away. I just smiled and carried on home.

My husband was going to be so proud of me for making new friends and connections already. I was worried that because I came from a small town that I would not fit in with this new lifestyle and the people that came along with it. I took a moment to catch my breath and then it dawned on me, the meeting time was at 12 midnight. Not to mention Jessica's comment about seeing me and my husband late last night. I wondered how the hell that was even possible being that our nearest neighbors home was at least a whole mile away. All of a sudden a wave of anxiety rushed over me but, I quickly dismissed it. I remembered hearing Jessica ask if Mark and I had a investor. So if it was one thing that I was looking forward to with this meeting, it was definitely to make as many new connections and friends as possible.

I ended up falling asleep in the living rooms bay window for a quick nap after reading and woke up just in time to get dressed and head around the bend to Jessica's house. I wanted to arrive a little earlier than 12 midnight just so I could meet and talk to as many people as possible. I decided to keep my attire simple but fashionable. I hoped in the shower and applied my makeup to match my outfit. I went with a powder pink blouse and a pair of khaki pants and black loafers. I put my hair in a ballerina bun with light curls in the back of my hair. Next I put on my favorite perfume, slipped on my matching pearl set, grabbed my keys and purse, and headed out the door. Mark had already left out to spend the evening out with his new friends so I sent him a quick text just to let him know that I was gone and would be back shortly just in case he arrived home before I did.

I pulled up to Jessica's home right as the clock struck 11:30 pm. I heard a few shouts and laughter as I walked up to her beautiful home. I rung the doorbell and heard someone shout from the other side "Come on in." As soon as the door was opened, I was met by the very happy pup that Jessica was walking earlier followed by non other than Jessica herself holding a glass of white wine wearing nothing but a bikini. I looked down at myself instantly feeling overdressed but decided to brush that feeling off. "Hello! I am so glad you made it to our Whoo's- Whoo's meeting. You look great by the way. Please come to the kitchen and grab yourself a glass of wine and meet us all in the backyard. Ill go ahead in the back and let the rest of the ladies know that you have arrived." I smiled and found my way to the kitchen followed by the happy pup. I couldn't help but notice that Jessica's home was very wide open. There was barely any furniture in any of the rooms that I walked past. It was open and free with small odd shaped wooden pieces hanging sporadically on the walls. I found the kitchen and found me a bottle of white wine and a glass. I poured myself a glass, drunk a gulp and refilled my glass again and took a deep breath and headed to the glass doors that led to Jessica's back yard. Here goes nothing.

I had noticed that it got a little quiet as I walked towards her backyard. I noticed a small red shed that mimicked a barn house nestled in the far end of her backyard and walked towards it. As I got closer I noticed that I heard "whoo, whoo", and looked around to see if I could spot the owl or owl's that was making the noise. I spotted Jessica standing outside the barn and I quickly walked towards her. I got to the entrance expecting to see a few of the other wives but , I was met with a surprise instead. There were only about four women standing inside the barn full of you guest it, BARN OWL'S.

"I see you have found us! Come on in! Now we are approaching midnight so we have to do some quick introductions so we can all go and hang out and catch up to the rest of the wives." Jessica grabbed me gently by the back and ushered me towards a bright gold cup. I know I had to have looked just as crazy and confused as I felt. I didn't remember her telling me that we were going out and what was up with all of these barn owl's. "Now to your left is Mary, next to her Macie, Ashley and Skylar. We are the head of the Whoo's-Whoo's club." The four ladies waved hello to me with the biggest smiles on their faces and the widest brightest eyes. Something was just not right here at all. I flinched as two of the owl's flew past me. Mouth wide open, mustering up the courage to speak, "Jess..." Jessica cut me off, just as Mary grabbed the gold cup and took a sip. I looked at Jessica and noticed she was guiding me towards the cup and I could not believe what I had just saw. In the blink of a eye, Mary had morphed into a owl and flew out of the barn. I screamed. "Ok what in the hell is going on here?!" "No time to explain. Well at least not much anyway. Now I just have one question for you. Are you ready to be free and fly?" Macie, Ashley and Skylar all took sips out of the gold cup and repeated the same morph as Mary. I had to be dreaming. This could not be real.

I took some deep breaths and looked around to find a place to sit and pinch myself. "No time to sit around. From the moment I saw you I knew you wanted to be freed. I can tell that just like the rest of the wives and myself that you are searching for your own identity, your own place. And trust me, with everything that is to come for you and your husband, you are going to want to join us. Do not be afraid. This will not hurt and trust me, you will make it home safe and sound. All you have to do is take a sip and join us on a unforgettable night of flying and freedom. Come and feel the wind!" I felt like I was sitting in the middle of a twilight movie. But for some reason I was curious. I looked up at Jessica's big round eyes and fell in a peaceful trance as she was looking at me reaching for my hand. "Join me." Before I knew it, eyes closed, I was drinking from the gold cup.
