The White Bull

Light In The Darkness

By Aja Sandian BevillePublished 5 years ago Updated 5 years ago 4 min read

A furry of lightening broke through the atmosphere and fated itself to the edge of Clay’s throat. The power and spirit was pure white, resonating every bit of light energy available to Earth. Thunder echoed all around the desert, as all the might of Zeus began to forge an emblem of a glowing ivory bull. The bull was embedded into the base of Clay’s throat just at the top of his chest.

Clay’s body was jolted with more electricity than our world had ever seen. Once the strike had rescinded back to it’s source, Clay fell to his knees in gratitude. He had pleaded with Zeus to gift him with the power to save his one true love, Gabby. Clay’s realization that Zeus had granted him the gifts he’d sought, riddled him with drive to get to her.

Clay being the Taurus that he was, it sometimes took a bit to get him motivated. Nothing motived him more than her, though. She was exactly what he needed to be able to step out of his comfortable and luxurious life. Calling to action his true life’s purpose.

Gabby was a direct descendent of Zeus and Europa. She was not as powerful as her immortal ancestors. However, she had been given her birthright of magical gifts, just the same. The powers she possessed were still presenting themselves to her, in her young adult life. But they would far surpass any gift a mere mortal would contain.

Erebus the God of Darkness had embarked on a mission to expand his “Place of Darkness” found between Earth and Hades. In doing so, he began to invade Gabby’s hometown on earth. His plague swirled through her town and took hold of anything good that her town or people had once possessed. Transforming their light into power for his ominous agenda.

Among many of her powers yet to manifest, Gabby had been given the “gift of gab” the power to persuade, with eloquent words of insight and wisdom. Igniting within herself the full force of her gifts, she sought out to use her power of persuasion to lead Erebus back to his rightful place. His darkness however, had already taken a hold of her towns people and all that was light or good. The aftermath of his destruction, was her realization, that she was too late. Erebus had only grown more powerful. Too powerful for her to overthrow him alone. Erebus took Gabby captive, imprisoning her to The Place of Darkness.

Clay’s connection with Gabby was fortunately so intense, he’d hear her cries to him. Even from the unearthly realm, to which she’d been bound. Zeus showed favor on Clay for his commitment to Gabby and her rescue from the God of Darkness’s hell. With the lighting strike, Zeus had instilled the power of the “White Bull” within Clay’s very being. After all, Zeus had utilized that very power for his own agenda once. With it, he transformed himself into the “White Bull” to seduce Europa. How could he let the battle to save his precious descendant, end at Clay’s cries for help?

The mesmerizing pendant attached to Clay’s neck had now changed color. It shimmered with vibrant sparks of opal and pearl. The bull was strategically placed on his body to aid Clay. Allowing him to utilize his own attributes and strengths, instilled in him at birth. Helping him harness his own power of persuasion and intensifying his already powerful gift to avoid conflict, would be among the countless powers the bull possessed.

If those two powers couldn’t help convince Erebus to concede his mission, that was only the beginning. The pendant was close enough to pull the Taurus straight from Clay’s heart and soul. Triggering that raging bull he always kept, locked deep inside him. Thanks to Zeus, harnessing the light, the pure white energy and power needed to defeat the darkness, would be at the snap of a finger for Clay.

As Clay set out to find Gabby amidst the the Place of Darkness, she felt glimmers of hope beginning to spark in her chest. The closer Clay drew to her the more strongly she could feel him. The more intensely she felt him, the brighter things got all around her. She began to ready her self for his arrival. Her intuition told her that it would take everything they both had to make it out of there alive.

Clay and Gabby knew deep down this journey wasn’t just about saving her alone. They’d be faced with the nearly impossible task of reversing Erebus’s havoc. They’d have to save the others and condemn his darkness, back to it’s original and rightful place in this universe. Although they feared the war they faced, the two of them were at peace with the conviction they felt to give this everything they had. Even if it meant death. A death plagued by an eternity of darkness. There was one thing however, Zeus knew, that they didn’t…

No amount of Darkness could ever hold up against the Light of the White Bull.
