In a small, quiet village on the outskirts of a vast and eerie forest, Lyra has always felt an unexplainable pull toward the woods. The villagers tell stories of strange occurrences—disembodied whispers, flickering lights, and shadows that move when no one is around. They warn her that the forest is cursed, a place where no one should go. Yet, despite their warnings, as dusk falls and the sky turns deep purple, a restless feeling overtakes her. Lyra gathers her courage, whispers a prayer, and steps into the forest. The instant her foot crosses the threshold, an unnatural silence envelops the air, and the trees seem to close in, their branches creaking ominously. It's as though they have been waiting for her....
