Every night, Ethan heard it: whispers from the woods outside his window. His parents dismissed it as wind, but he knew better. One night, he ventured out, flashlight trembling in his hands.

Branches clawed at him as he stepped deeper. The whispers grew louder, surrounding him, chanting his name. Suddenly, his flashlight flickered, revealing a circle of worn faces, their eyes hollow. One pointed at him, mouth opening in a silent scream. Frozen, he couldn’t turn away. The flashlight died, and darkness swallowed him whole.
