Today, I turn 200 years old. It is April 15, 2112. The day the Titanic sank and the day I turned into a vampire. I was there, there on the Titanic. I was among the survivors. Right before the ship sank I had a horrible sharp shooting pain in my neck, then I smelled blood. That's right smelled blood, I always thought the changing would be long and painful. But right then I smelled blood.
The Titanic used 825 tons of coal per day and used more than 10,000 lamps. It took over 7 million dollars to build, not including the daily work. It took 14,000 gallons of drinking water used every 24 hours to satisfy the passengers. I could go on and on about all the statistics of that damn boat. I was one of the 2 workers "killed" during the sinking. The other guy was my friend, Sam. He wanted to make a better life for himself, his contract was to work on the boat and he would be taken care of.
"Sam, what was your contract for working here?" I ask
"Benjamin, you never make small talk before asking the big questions," Sam says as he laughs. I learn later that small talk is better than no talk.
"What, I just want to make sure you are getting the best possible pay. I know I am." I say, not really caring what I got, I just want to make sure he got good pay. Even then I cared what happen to him. We have known each other ever since the cradle.
Now I still wish he would have been turned with me. I still don't know who turned me. But when I finally figured out what being a vampire meant, I'm glad he wasn't turned.
I didn't have anyone to explain what happened to me. My maker swam away before the ship sank and no record was made for him I believe.
The knowledge of vampires was general knowledge. If they want to go on a boat without record then they could. Some humans chase the vampires, for their immortality, for their love that isn't really loved.
"Benjamin! The ship is sinking!" Sam screams at me as I'm trying to get the other workers out.
"I know! Go! I'll catch up! There is someone else down here!" I scream. I hear a women crying. I walk through the thigh-deep water to the lowest level. The crying got louder until I met the eyes of my maker. A woman in a beautiful red dress, just standing there smiling at me.
"Do you need some help miss?" I ask. If I knew what I know now I would have ran.
"Yes, come here little young one." The lady said but it felt like a command.
"What is going on?" I ask
"I am making you one of mine. You will belong to me." She said as I was right in front of her. She grabbed my hair and neck, bent me down, and bit me.
"NO!" I hear Sam screaming. The lady lets me go and I fall, I turn to see Sam's head torn from his body.
"Sam!" I scream. Scream for Sam, scream from the pain in my neck, scream to see blood and fangs on my maker.
"You will be a vampire. I am leaving you to learn for yourself. Find me when you want to join me." The lady says and leaves, I bleed.
That night I met my maker.
Now 200 years later, I find her and kill her at the museum of the sinking that ended and began my life. In the end, I killed her by decapitation and then burned her and the museum down.
