The Vampire of Pogradec
The Legend of a Bloodthirsty Monster That Haunted the City

Deep in the mountains of Albania, there was a small city called Pogradec. This city was surrounded by thick forests and steep hills, making it difficult for outsiders to navigate. Despite its isolation, Pogradec was a bustling city, with a thriving community and rich cultural heritage. But for all its beauty and charm, there was one dark secret that haunted the people of Pogradec - the legend of the vampire.
The story of the vampire of Pogradec was passed down from generation to generation, whispered in hushed tones around campfires and shared in quiet corners of the city's taverns. According to legend, the vampire was once a wealthy merchant who lived in the city many years ago. He was a man of great power and influence, but his heart was filled with darkness and cruelty. He would spend his days plotting against his enemies and indulging in his most twisted desires, but he would do so in secret, hidden away from the prying eyes of the world.
One night, however, the vampire's secret was exposed. He was caught in the act of draining the blood of an innocent victim, and the people of Pogradec rose up against him. They chased him out of the city, into the wilderness beyond, and left him to die alone in the darkness.
But the vampire did not die that night. Instead, he was reborn as a creature of the night, a bloodthirsty monster that preyed on the innocent and the unsuspecting. He would stalk the streets of Pogradec at night, searching for his next victim, and when he found them, he would drain them of their blood and leave them dead or dying.
For years, the vampire of Pogradec terrorized the city, striking fear into the hearts of the people who lived there. Some claimed to have seen him lurking in the shadows, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly light, while others whispered of the horrible screams they heard at night, as the vampire claimed yet another victim.
Despite their fear, the people of Pogradec did not give up hope. They prayed for salvation, and eventually, their prayers were answered. A group of brave hunters came to the city, armed with weapons and holy relics, and set out to destroy the vampire once and for all.
The hunters tracked the vampire to his lair, deep in the heart of the forest. They found him lying in a coffin, surrounded by the remains of his victims. The vampire woke from his slumber and attacked the hunters, but they were prepared. They fought back with all their might, driving a stake through the vampire's heart and decapitating him.
With the vampire defeated, the people of Pogradec breathed a sigh of relief. They lit bonfires and rang the church bells, celebrating their victory over the creature that had haunted them for so long. But even as they rejoiced, they knew that the legend of the vampire of Pogradec would live on, a reminder of the darkness that lurks in the shadows.
Years passed, and the memory of the vampire began to fade. The people of Pogradec went about their daily lives, content in the knowledge that they were safe from the creature that had once terrorized them. But then, one night, a new darkness descended upon the city.
At first, it was just whispers, rumors of strange happenings in the forest. But soon, those whispers turned into screams, as people began to disappear once again. The streets of Pogradec were filled with fear and panic, and the people realized that the vampire had returned.
No one knew how the vampire had come back to life, but it was clear that he was more powerful than ever before. He stalked the city once again, hunting his prey with a renewed hunger.
