The Unfairness
Drabble Drop : Diplomatic

I pace the room, cursing under my breath, angry at the circumstances, especially angry at Peter, my co-worker.
I plan to ring the boss as soon as the office opens and get this off my chest.
How could Peter take credit for my work? He’s made the boss believe he was the one to produce that paper that was just published in the science research forum.
It is my report, my work, my achievement!
I slow my pacing, berating myself for getting so worked up. I remind myself to be diplomatic when talking to the boss. Diplomatic but strong!

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘diplomatic'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
