The Unexpected Hero

True event, but in my dream

One day, I had a dream that felt like a scene straight out of a movie. In this dream, a hero entered a house dramatically, and it was a moment I would never forget.

The clock struck 7:00 AM as the owner of the house, a humble figure named Aric, returned home after finishing a long night shift at the local blacksmith shop. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting golden light through the dirty windows and illuminating the cluttered living room that had been neglected over the past few days. Dust floated lazily in the air, settling on surfaces that had seen better days.

As Aric pushed open the creaky door, he felt a sudden chill. Something was off. He stepped inside slowly, his instincts on high alert. The house was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the vibrant world outside. 

Suddenly, his gaze fell on a rolled-up piece of tape that lay on the floor, twisting and turning as if caught in an invisible breeze. Just as he bent down to pick it up, a figure lunged at him from the shadows—a thief who had been waiting for the right moment to strike.

Aric quickly sprang into action, instinct kicking in as he fought back against the intruder. They exchanged blows, with the thief trying to overpower him, but Aric’s strength from years of working in the forge gave him the upper hand. They had a heavy fight, like in an action movie. In the chaos, Aric grabbed a length of wire that lay nearby and deftly roped the thief, binding his arms tightly.

Breathing heavily, Aric glared at the captured intruder. “How did you know I was here?” the thief sneered, struggling against his restraints.

With a calm but firm voice, Aric replied, “Every night, a rat enters my kitchen. It always comes back after I arrive home. I knew someone else would try to sneak in.”

Just then, the dream began to fade, the colors swirling around him like smoke. Aric felt a strange mix of emotions—fear, bravery, and a sense of purpose. As the scene dissolved, he awoke in his own bed, his heart racing, unsure if it had all been a vivid dream or a glimpse of what was to come.
