The Town That Fell Asleep

"Some Dreams You Never Wake From"

By Samuel PhillipsPublished about a year ago 1 min read

On the morning of March 14th, the entire town of Harrow’s Hollow woke up late. It was strange because the town clock had stopped exactly at midnight. Even stranger, no one remembered going to bed. It was as if everyone had just… collapsed at the same time.

Lucy, a 17-year-old high school student, realized something was wrong when she noticed her dog, Max, hadn’t barked all morning. He was still curled up by the door, breathing softly but impossible to wake. Her parents were the same, eyes shut, trapped in some unseen dream.

Stepping outside, Lucy discovered half the town was still asleep people frozen mid-activity: a mailman slumped against his van, a jogger lying in the grass, kids motionless on swings. Only a handful of people, like Lucy, had woken up.

Desperate for answers, Lucy joins the other awake residents. They realize they all share one thing in common: a strange dream from the night before about a shadowy figure whispering, “You’re not ready yet.”

Now, they must race against time to uncover who or what is behind this mysterious slumber before they, too, fall asleep forever.

But with every clue they uncover, one chilling question lingers: What if the world they’re waking up to isn’t the same one they fell asleep in?
