When you learn something new, your memory center lights up like a Christmas tree...stimulating it, creating a loop of new information. That stimulation is like a workout for the hippocampus. From the tourist standpoint, all too familiar (& most of my pictures don't turn out well anyway). From a more historical, sociological, psychological perspective, let me still say that both the event itself & the aftermath as witnessed in the movie "Chernobyl" remain sobering to me
