The Toilet Ghost

A harmless prank turned into a nightmare when Lisa realized she wasn’t alone in the school restroom.

By Al MuksinPublished 10 months ago 3 min read

The school restroom had long been rumored to be haunted. Every student who dared to enter alone always came out pale-faced. Some claimed to hear whispers, while others swore they saw a dark shadow in the mirror. But no one truly knew the origins of the ghost that lurked there.

A Tense Night

Rina, a second-year student, never believed in ghost stories. To her, they were just old tales made up to scare kids. However, one night, she was forced to test her courage.

During an extracurricular activity, Rina suddenly felt the need to use the restroom. Since it was already late, the school was nearly empty. Only a few students and teachers remained in the hall. The girls’ restroom was located at the end of the corridor, far from the main area.

Casually, Rina walked towards the restroom. The hallway lights flickered, making the atmosphere eerier than usual. Still, she stepped forward without fear.

When she reached the restroom, she peeked inside. It was empty.

A Whisper from the Stall

Rina entered one of the stalls and locked the door. Silence filled the room. But a few seconds later, she heard the sound of dripping water from the sink.

Drip... drip... drip...

"Strange," she muttered. "There was no sound earlier."

Suddenly, another sound emerged. This time, it was a soft whisper coming from the stall next to hers.

"Get out..."

A chill ran down Rina’s spine. Her heartbeat quickened.

"Hello? Is someone there?" she asked, trying to convince herself that it was just the wind.

No answer.

Summoning her courage, Rina bent down slightly to peek under the stall next to hers.

A pair of pale feet stood still.

Thump!

Rina stumbled backward, her breath shaky. Her legs trembled as she stood up, trying to leave the stall as quickly as possible. But before she could open the door, a soft knocking sound came from the stall beside her.

Knock... knock... knock...

"You shouldn’t be here..."

The Shadow in the Mirror

Panicked, Rina swung the door open and rushed to the sink. She wanted to make sure someone else was there. But when she looked into the mirror, her eyes widened in horror.

Behind her stood a girl with long, unkempt hair and a pale face. Her eyes were hollow, her lips bluish, and she had a thin, eerie smile.

Rina wanted to scream, but no sound came out.

The figure slowly raised its hand as if trying to touch Rina.

Without thinking, Rina turned around and bolted out of the restroom as fast as she could. She didn’t care if anyone saw her running in panic—she just wanted to get away.

As she glanced back before leaving the corridor, the restroom door slowly creaked shut. Through the narrow gap, she could see a pair of dark eyes staring at her from the shadows.

A Haunting That Never Ends

Since that night, Rina never used that restroom again, not even during the day.

The next morning, she overheard two janitors talking.

"Did you hear? Someone saw the ghost again last night."

"Yeah… I heard it was a girl who ran out screaming. Just like before."

"Poor thing. She doesn’t know the story, does she?"

Rina hesitated before stepping closer. "Excuse me… What story?"

The older janitor sighed. "Years ago, a student went missing after being locked in that restroom. They found her days later… but she was already gone. Ever since then, strange things have happened there."

Rina felt her body go cold.

She wasn’t the first.

And she wouldn’t be the last.

Because the ghost in the restroom...

Was still waiting.Start writing...
